1972 Mercedes-Benz 600 will Drop Jaws at Barrett-Jackson Hot August Nights Auction
Each year, Barrett-Jackson holds world-famous auctions in Scottsdale, Arizona; Palm Beach, Florida and Las Vegas, Nevada.
For 2013, Barrett-Jackson has introduced a new event in Reno, Nevada — the Hot August Nights Auction Presented by Barrett-Jackson, happening August 8th to the 10th at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. The new auction will serve as one of the main attractions during the 27th annual Hot August Nights classic car festival, which brings in hundreds of thousands of people for its show-n-shines, cruises, drag races and concerts.

Barrett-Jackson Lot 702 – 1972 Mercedes-Benz 600 4-Door Sedan
This hand-built Mercedes-Benz 600 4-door sedan is a rare gem. Only 2,677 were produced from 1964 to 1981. The 600 featured a 6.3L M100 V8 with Bosch fuel injection. Not only were the 600’s brakes operated hydraulically, the seats, windows, sunroof, trunk and doors were operated by the same system. Things get really futuristic upon finding this car was engineered with adjustable air suspension. The Mercedes 600 is a treasure from the past that took a naughty peek behind the curtain and snooped into the future. This particular gold example has fewer than 44,000 miles on the clock.
The Hot August Nights Auction serves as the replacement for the popular Barrett-Jackson Orange County Auction that ran from 2010 to 2012. According to Barrett-Jackson, the Southern California event outgrew its location at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.
Hot August Nights kicks off Friday, August 2nd and Saturday, August 3rd on the Nevada side of south Lake Tahoe. The event continues in Reno/Sparks August 6th to 11th.
