The 2015 C63 AMG is Here … Sort of

After an earlier-than-wanted leak today of the new W205 C63 AMG, Mercedes sent out a few higher-resolution pictures to hopefully satisfy the hungry fans and journalists. Guess what, Mercedes? It didn’t. We just want more now.

We’ve been covering all the latest spy shots that we can find of the new C63, such as the interior shots leaked last week, or the engine and a whole bunch of other fun tidbits about the new car that has some pretty big shoes to fill. But we haven’t been able to get a really good look at the new design language especially in AMG form. Now, at least, we have a bit more of a teaser, and if Mercedes knows one thing, it knows how to tease.

Here’s what we know. It will use a detuned version of the 4.0L twin-turbo V8 found in the AMG GT. There will be two versions: the first with 469 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, and the bat-shit crazy C63 S with 503 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. According to Mercedes, there is another secret about this car, but the automaker isn’t giving that up till it’s officially announced. Don’t worry: Paris is just around the corner. In addition, I’m meeting up with a Mercedes rep next week and I’ll grill them for more details.
