2019 Mercedes-AMG G63 Edition 1 Announced

Exclusive G63 Edition 1 special model will be available at launch.

We have talked about the 2019 G-Class quite a bit, and for good reason: it’s a game changer, especially in AMG G63 guise. That said, when it comes to special editions of special editions, you better be ready because Mercedes has announced the Mercedes-AMG G63 Edition 1. This limited-production model will only be available through 2019. In fact, it’s so special and rare that Mercedes hasn’t unveiled any pictures of it (hence the stock photo above). That said, they have given us the details of what the Edition 1 treatment consists of, so here we go.

The Mercedes-AMG G63 Edition 1 features a combination of equipment details that turns the special model (of the special model) into the flagship of the range. Edition 1 models will feature designo Night Black Magno exterior paintwork, with contrasting matte Graphite Grey sports stripes along the vehicle sides, and the mirrors will features a decorative red stripe. It will also feature the AMG Night package, with gloss black exterior accents, to boot. The Edition 1 will ride on matte black 22-inch forged wheels in a cross-spoke design that have red-painted rim flanges.

The red highlights continue into the interior, as well. Red contrasting topstitching will be features on the dashboard support, center console, door panels and rear seats. The front sport seats in Black/Red Pepper nappa leather match the aesthetic. Said sport seats feature a diamond pattern with red contrasting topstitching as standard. Carbon-fiber interior trim pieces also have highlights in Red Pepper. And, to wrap things up the Performance steering wheel in DINAMICA microfiber with a flattened lower section that is embellished with red contrasting topstitching and a red 12 o’clock marking.

It all sounds a bit busy to us, but, hey, what do we know. As previously reported, the Mercedes-AMG G63 will premiere on March 6 at the Geneva Motor Show. Pricing is to be announced, but a healthy guess is just North of $160,000.
