Extensive measures now make the entry-level 2019 C43 Sedan even more attractive.

The C-Class is a lot of things to a lot of people. In fact, Mercedes claims that “the C-Class is the most versatile and most successful model series from Mercedes-AMG.” They say this because there are three AMG variants of the C-Class sold in the United States.

But 2019 brings a refreshed face to the C-Class name, which means revised AMG models to match. Now, Mercedes-AMG has confirmed that the C43 variant will return. So what will consumers get when they opt to buy a 2019 C43 sedan?

Exterior

Mercedes-AMG continually used the word “expressive” when describing the new C43. Front and rear fascias are new for the 2019 model, as is the radiator grille, which is a big talking point. The 2019 C43 wears the corporate AMG face, with a large twin-louver grille painted in matte iridium silver. It looks quite nice.

Similarly, the rear of the car also gets much more “expressive” elements, such as louvers, scalloped elements, and a prominent rear diffuser. Additionally, a trunk lip spoiler in body color is present to add more aggression to the back of the new C. Oh, and the obligatory quad tail pipes are present, to let the bourgeoisie know this is no ordinary C250.

There is also an optional AMG Night Package which creates highlights that are even sportier. The AMG Night Package includes a more expressive front splitter, the standard-fit spoiler lip, broader side skirt inserts and flics in the rear bumper are finished in high-gloss black.

18-inch wheels, measuring 7.5-inches wide in the front, and 8.5-inches wide out back, are standard. 19-inch wheels, of the same widths, are an available optional extra.

Interior

Mercedes claims that “the interior reinforces the dynamic caliber of the new C43 Sedan with numerous individual details.” Sporty materials such as leather, Dinamica microfiber and aluminum continue the sporty theme.

The optional AMG Performance Seats provide optimum lateral support thanks to the special design of the seat side bolsters and backrest. The AMG Performance Seats with integrated head restraints emphasize the sporty character of the cockpit. For the first time in the C43 Sedan, the leahter AMG Performance Seats can not only be heated, but now ventilated in three levels.

The operating system of the C43 Sedan is just as versatile as it is flexible. All options are aimed at enabling the control tasks to be carried out as conveniently, quickly and appropriately to the situation as possible in this sporty environment. The system can be controller via the touchpad and controller, steering wheel controls, or by voice.

Just as flexible is the display of the optional, fully digital instrument cluster with 12.3-inch screen diagonal. This display brings the vehicle functions directly to life with the three AMG-specific display styles of “Classic,” “Sport” or “Supersport.”

Via the specific AMG menu, the driver is able to call up a host of additional information to make the driving experience even sportier:

      • Warm-up: engine and transmission oil temperature plus charge pressure as Boost display
      • Setup: current status of systems such as the drive system, suspension, exhaust system, ESPĀ® and transmission
      • G-Force: display of current g-forces in a coordinate system and ability to save maximum values
      • Race Timer: manual stopwatch for lap times and color display of fastest and slowest laps, plus average speed and distance
      • Engine Data: engine torque / rated output in a bar chart plus charge pressure as Boost display
