AMG Debuts Special Edition G63 with Matching Tirranna Speed Boat

New boat is pure AMG with six motors and 2,700 total horsepower on tap.

When AMG goes big, they go big. In this case, a partnership with Cigarette Racing has resulted in the Tirranna. The Tirranna is a 59 foot long speed boat, with six engines and a grand total of 2,700 horsepower. ClassicCars reports the unveiling happened at the Miami Boat Show, and with it, a special edition G-wagon.

Stats on the boat reflect the AMG mindset. The engines are 4.6 V8’s and all are supercharged. They are also built by Mercury Racing, rather than AMG. However, this speedboat’s top speed is an AMG worthy 80 miles per hour. Carbon fiber is used throughout, as it makes up much of the Tirranna structure. It is meant to reduce both weight and center of gravity in order to increase performance.

Of the boat, Daimler AG chief designer Gorden Wagener says, “Mercedes-AMG stands for Performance Luxury. The Tirranna AMG Edition is the perfect transfer of this principle to a boat: It is dynamic and at the same time deeply sensual proportions embody athletic beauty.” Pretty strong words for a speedboat, but we do agree it looks great. Your 25 other friends that you can take with would probably agree, too.

Of course what boat owner wouldn’t want a Matching AMG to go with it? That’s what the one-off G63 is for. It has matching trim and leather to reflect the colors used on the boat, as well as the black with gold side decals to match the Tirranna as well. And for features, it has trick instruments that are on a flat LED panel and a California king bed in its cabin for relaxing after an oh-so-rough day out in the bay.

This isn’t the first time AMG has partnered up with the aquatic world either. Past AMG boats have definitely wowed us before. Way back in 2013 they wowed us with the neon yellow SLS inspired speedboat. And in 2016 Mercedes made their own Arrow 460 Granturismo Edition 1. It makes sense for Mercedes to be delving into the world of super yachts and speedboats, considering that their AMG and Maybach clients could likely enjoy the open waters.
