AMG Unveils A 45 Performance Studio Exclusive

Oh Mercedes, why must you torture us so? Hot hatch lovers in the US (all six of them) have been oogling the A 45 AMG since it made it’s debut last year. There’s good reason for that. Because AMG is involved, the A 45 about as powerful as 911. The resulting car is capable of carrying people and stuff through all manner of terrain (thanks the AWD) at an extremely rapid pace form much less money. If you want to close that price gap though, the Performance Studio Edition is one way to do it.

This appearance package really turns up the volume on the A 45’s looks, for better or worse. I like the green accents and the rally-style rear spoiler. As a younger person who doesn’t really care if my car screams “I’M FAST! I SWEAR!” I find the styling agreeable. I can understand if fans of AMG’s typically understated styling shrink from this racy little hatch. Agree or disagree, the one thing I know for sure is that this kit would not look good on the CLA. The A45 AMG gets away with it because it’s a hatchback. I’m not sure adding a spoiler of any type to the CLA would be an improvement.

The beauty of the Performance Studio is in it’s flexibility. As long as you have the money, Mercedes likely has a way to make your car unique. You don’t have to have a body vinyl that makes it look like you just drove through a puddle of Scope, but you can if you want it.
