Grower and a Shower — C63 AMG Exhaust
Have you ever seen exhaust grow? No? Well, then, as Captain Oveur in Airplane! asked, “You ever seen a grown man naked?”
Thanks to the wonders of thermal heat expansion, vehicle exhaust systems do, in fact, grow significantly as their temperatures increase. Thanks to the wonders of forum member fly2nite‘s documentation skills and curiosity, we can now see an exhaust system grow right before our eyes. The icing on the cake is that our subject vehicle happens to be a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. Notice how the AMG logos atop the exhaust tips lurk out; it’s like watching a horsepower sunrise.
When I saw this time-lapse video, I displayed an ebullient fondness for it on our forum; thus, fly2nite was kind enough to post some more exhibits of the growing and showing, and so, on with my showing and telling: the next clip adds some exhaust sound to the mix.
