Take, for example, this G500 4×4² painted in a wild-looking color you’d typically expect to find on an exotic supercar more so than a luxury SUV. But don’t let the color fool you, this special-edition G-Wagon lives up to everything you’d expect from the SUV.

Under the hood, the G500 4×4² is equipped with a more-powerful version of Mercedes’ 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine, packing 421 horsepower and 450 lb-ft. of torque. The SUV features the same portal axles as the Mercedes-Benz G63 6×6, which substantially improves the vehicle’s off-road capabilities by enabling the actual axle to be moved higher up than the wheels’ center, as highlighted in the video clip below.
