Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes AMG F1 Car vs. Yamaha R1M

By -

Given the track’s limitations, we’d love to see Lewis Hamilton take on the Yamaha at a proper racing circuit.

Remember when Formula One cars sounded amazing? So do we, and this video from Supercars of London reminded us of it. The sonorous exhaust note of an 830-horsepower, 2.4-liter naturally aspirated AMG V8 is unlike anything else on earth.

There’s not much we can say about this video, really. The action begins as your host introduces the 2013 World Championship contender, and shows Lewis Hamilton walking around the paddock. A few moments later the action on track begins, with the now three-time world champion piloting the stunning Silver Arrow around the Bushy Park Race Circuit in Barbados.

As you can tell, the circuit’s layout looks rather exciting, but it’s too short and narrow to allow machinery such as the Mercedes AMG F1 car (and even the Yamaha) to stretch its legs. After a few shenanigans on the Brit’s behalf, the Superbike-derived Yamaha R1M comes into the picture. The dynamic duo put on a few good laps around the track, each one showing what their machines are capable of.

If someone could rent the Hockenheim-Ring for a day and bring these two along, we would love you forever.

Enjoy!
