Brake Air Duct Mods
Ever wondered what those fancy louvered slots were doing in the front wall of
your E55 (or any other W211) wheel well? Wonder no more - absolutely nothing! Just place an electric fan or a big hair dryer near any of the front bumper openings and feel the "tornado" unleash inside that "brake furnace" ...in your dreams!
There is now a remedy in the form of a special flexible 2.5" hose which at high speed (100mph), when you need it most, will pump 125 litres/ 33 gal of cold, even freezing air EVERY SECOND onto the front callipers.
Even if you lose 50% of that flow through internal duct drag, that still leaves 16 gal /sec to flush the 50 gal front wheel well every 3 sec! (Proportionately less if you drive slower, of course.)
No more cooked "gold" callipers or warped rotors.
This mod is now available in a kit form. PM or email for details.

Doesn't look like that would do much, other than blow a bunch of air around the wheelwell. You need ducts that mount at the rotor/spindle and blow air directly on the rotor. Something like these ducts...

The new duct outlet had to be trimmed right back to avoid being rubbed by the front wheel. The mounting plates in the photo go over that duct outlet to finish it off , veeery sexy! There is no other place to put it. You will see once you have removed the bottom covers and climbed underneath your car!
I disagree with your comment that it will do very little. It will do a hell of a lot more than what we have now = sweet nothing. Why is it, that almost all performance cars (and many bread & butter models too) have air ducts in the front spoilers with openings in the front wheel well?
If you pump air into a given volume, it has to displace what's already there. If you pump cold air at 30F at 16gal/sec into a 50gal hot "oven" what is going to happen with all that hot air sitting around the calippers?

That part is for a Z06 Corvette. The Z06 has factory ducts like the ones Rafal posted and when guys seriously track the cars (which only weigh 3100lbs), they add ducts like the picture I posted.
Rafal, do you have any before/after temp readings from track days with your ducts?
