LUMMA Designs Introduce Aggressive Body Kit for G-Class

Mercedes-Benz recently confirmed that it plans on adding models to many of its prominent nameplates that will feature some level of electrification. In addition to Merc’s AMG and Maybach range, the company has also decided to add an electrified version of the G wagon to its upcoming vehicle portfolio.

The tri-star brand’s decision to invest in electric propulsion is quite a strategic move taking into account the growing popularity of electric vehicles and SUVs. There’s even more excitement in store for fans of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class as German tuner and customizer LUMMA Design has unveiled an intimidating body kit for the outgoing G-Class models.

The company has confirmed that LUMMA CLR G 770R- gets a wide range of visual and performance enhancements over its predecessor- the CLR G770. The new body kit sports a more aggressive design and comprises of a completely redesigned front bumper and rear apron.

With the body kit on, a large custom-built hood scoop dominates the front-end of the SUV. There are also four sets of LED light strips that snugly integrate into the roof. one can find subtle contrasting red accents throughout the bodywork that help accentuate the sporty appeal of the SUV.

The photographed example rides on LUMMA 24 inch CLR 24 RS alloy wheels that retail as optional extras. The company also offers other alloys in different styles and sizes, but the design of the 24-inch RS units ensures optimum weight distribution. The load-bearing capacity of each CLR 24 RS alloy is rated at around 2138 lbs or 970 kg. The body kit also includes wider fenders capable of accommodating the new set of wheels.

At the rear, we find a cover for the tailgate-mounted spare tire that sports LUMMA badging. The company recommends customers wrap their CLR 24 RS wheels in 295/30 and 355/25 tires that are not included in LUMMA Refinement Program for the current G-Class. LUMMA Designs also offers aftermarket exhaust options for the G-Class, including a bespoke two flap-controlled system that effectively integrates into the SUV’s Biturbo V8 powerplant. Prices for LUMMA Design body kits start at around $14900 or €1270(at current exchange rates).
