2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

“Expensive” is a relative term, but most multi-millionaires would agree the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is an expensive car. For the 2014 model year, however, that “expensive” claim will be only 97.8 percent as true. In October when the new W222 S-Class Benz arrives in showrooms, the well-equipped base S550 will cost $93,825 … $2,100 less than the W221 2013 S-Class. If you want all-wheel drive, the S550 4MATIC will set you back $96,825, but you’ll have to wait until November for that one.

If you perceive the S-Class as an inexpensive car, we applaud you. Perhaps the $140,425 577-horsepower S63 AMG is worthy of your attention. Also due to hit showrooms in November, the pissed-off AMG S-Class will hit 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds with the help of its 664 lb-ft of torque. If, like most people, $140K is too dear, you’ll have to make do with 455 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque in the more plebeian S550.
