Rendered 190 EVO II Brings Modern Style To Modern Classic

Render of a wide(er) body 190 EVO II is just about as cool as you can get.

One part of our psyche says “don’t mess with the original, it’s perfect.” And another says “what if?” Well, what if someone was given free reign to design the 190 EVO II for the modern era? Hagerty was the ones that asked the question and artist Kylzyl “Kyza” Saleem fulfilled the answer.

Considering the 190 EVO is now 30 years old, the car legitimately qualifies as a potential for a resto-mod build. Given this is just a render, we don’t have to worry about an original be hacked up. But one thing to note is that resto-mod cars have traditionally been reserved for American V8 cars. Now though there’s a recent crop of 80’s Euro rides that have been emerging. Truth told, it’s a trend we definitely like seeing.

HighConsumption offers some insight on to this build via an article we spotted. A preexisting 3D model provides the basis for which Kyza will base his render. From there, all sorts of modifications are made to the 3D model. Many of the car’s new accents are lifted from other 80’s rally and racing legends of the era.

Let’s start with the obvious; it’s wide. Fenders flared out to the max, with oversize wheels and tires stuffed underneath. The aero discs on the wheels accent the other added aero on the car. A deeper front splitter leads to fender flares. Those lead to wider sills, and terminates at the rear with an oversized diffuser. Colors are inspired unapologetically by the AMG Formula 1 team. The interior has even been modified to house a half-cage. In all, the render is awesome in its vision of a car that never really existed.

One thing that really stand outs for us is that he’s converted this 190 E into a car that never existed before. Look closely and you’ll see it’s a 2-door. Now, we know a 2-door W201 never saw the light of day, and this is the closest we’ll ever see to it. Pretty cool if you ask us.
