Supercharged Quarter-Mile C63 AMG Monster Runs 9s!

By -

How do you get a C63 AMG down the strip in under 10 seconds? Have it supercharged!

Just because new AMGs are turbocharged doesn’t mean the M156 is going out of style. In fact it’s proving to be a powerhouse in all of the cars which still employ its use. In this instance, we have a supercharged version of that same motor, trying its best to make a 1,320-foot sprint in the shortest time possible. The goal? Under 10 seconds.

Now, when making nearly 700 horsepower to the wheels, you can’t expect everything to be stock. Supporting a 13 psi stage-3 Weistec supercharger are ARP head studs and IAH headers. Surprisingly, the stock fuel pumps and injectors were used, which shows just how much is left in this build. On this day though, 9s were the objective, as detailed in the video above.

Running consistently in the very low 10s gave a lot of promise, and 15-inch slicks, and seats removed helped to get every extra ounce of speed out of this C63. Ultimately, a 9.954 second run was in the bag, at an impressive 140.18 mile per hour trap speed.

The search for speed isn’t over yet, though. As mentioned, the fuel delivery is bone stock, and the transmission is being re-programmed for better shifting points. Once that’s in order, it’ll be impressive to see what this supercharged beast can pull off.
