The GLE Coupe will be the first Mercedes to use the company’s new SUV naming system. It will also be the first Mercedes offered in the AMG Sport trim level. With that AMG Sport designation, the GLE will receive the AMG twin-turbo V6, which makes 367 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, before any other M-B does.

We just spotted the new Mercedes GLE Coupe undergoing its initial winter testing without much camouflage, and it sure looks like she’ll take the fight to BMW and their X6.

Early next year, Mercedes-Benz will lift more than just the face of its third-generation M-Class SUV. It will also lift off the “ML” badge and replace it with one that reads “GLE.”
