This Custom CLK Is So Strange, You Have To See It For Yourself
Proportions are important, and this CLK hot rod sure has a lot of them.
We at MBWorld like when someone creates something a bit outside of the box. We guess you could say that’s exactly where this CLK creation lives. Permanently.
This U.K.-based car uses almost all Mercedes parts, including the stock 3.2 liter V6, drivetrain and suspension. The frame itself is custom-built, but designed so the axles line up to where they would normally be on a CLK, albeit a bit higher. The fenders are all new, made from steel rather than fiberglass, and supposedly give the car a “Coke bottle” shape.
Around back, the whole rear area of the car is all new with a bigger trunk (but smaller opening) and dual port windows. The trunk line blends with the bumper and incorporates square tail lights. A better tire choice might improve the awkward ride height.

According to the seller — who also created it — his intention was to build a comfortable custom. He noted that most hot rods with V8 engines are terribly uncomfortable to drive for long distances. But this one, with its bizarre blend of classic styling and Mercedes parts offers all the comfort you could imagine. Even more importantly, the seller says he prefers people to love to hate his designs. He’s sure got us.
