Watching this fella in the video below fishtail and burn rubber down the road in his doctored W202 turbo Mercedes-Benz C36 AMG is a true bit of quality entertainment!

The clip offers no introduction or overview of parts installed, but in the YouTube description we discover this C36 AMG has a Turbobandit TB70 series turbocharger, Megasquirt fuel injection, and is using E85 fuel. Turbobandit says their TB70 is good up to 800 horsepower, but from the looks of it, I bet this AMG 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine is pushing closer to 600 or 700 horsepower.

The simple nature of his ability to gently swing the car to either side of the road heading, generally in the straight direction, is a pleasure to watch. The chassis looks like it’s handling it well, as do the tires, suspension, and all the power componentry. A true statement to Mercedes-Benz’s quality engineering in their AMG department. Hand built engines to German spec have potential unlike equal American and Japanese cars, even decades later, like this one. From my experience in the industry, I can tell they’re built to push more power from their innate robust design.

One can really hear the turbocharger spinning at high RPMs at the end of the video, right around 1:42. The driver does a final huge burnout where it almost looks like it’s in slow motion. They do a great job of keeping the speed down and the wheel speed high. There was one point where I thought they were going to go fully sideways, but the driver caught it perfectly, roping it into the next slide to the other side. I know the W202 Mercedes-Benz C-Class AMG models were controllable, but this driver gives the car new life with a turbo and impeccable driver skills.
