What was your first mod?
HI, guys.
I am picking up my coupe tommorow , am so exited.
Have been browsing for 3 days this forum to figure out whether I shoud do chip mod 1st or engine mod 1st.
Is there rule for that?

Which coupe? If it's a 2003 then you are out of luck, no mods of any kind yet. If it's a 2002 then the pulley is the best bang for the buck starting at only $350 and one hours labor. The chips work best with the pulley and if you get a chip first, you'll have to rechip if you do the pulley.

Thank you guys!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for sharing your ideas guys.
Hey , Victourious , thank you for your advise.
But I think I will go ahead anyway.
For Buellwinkel I thank you too for your knowledge.
I am buying a 2002 used model.
Guess I am not out of luck.
Have a couple of Question to ask though if you don't mind.
1st one is , I might just go ahead get pulley upgraded , what brand would you recommend for those 2 products?
Where would I get those?
I was thinking about a Kleemann Pulley and Wetterauer Chip.
What do you think?
Both clams each one of them give me close to 40 HPs according to their web sites.
Expecting about 276 HP C230K with those 2 mods.
Do you think that's possible?
Drop me your opinion, will you?
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i don't even think 250hp. i think you'll be very lucky if you get 240hp w/ a chip/pulley. good luck though.
btw i'd get the pulley first so i don't have to do the chip twice. (didn't someone say wetterauer is not a chip... i'll doublecheck)

Chiping the car with out the pulley mod will not give you much I would reccomend that you do both. There are several kit's out there Renntech offers a chip and pulley kit. There chip programing is adaptive so it works like the Mercedes programs. You would not need to rechip it with each added mod.

there's a lot of info floating around... i found a piece of info from Lynn that says that the wetterauer is indeed a pulley kit and not a chip.

I spoke to Wetteraur about a year ago and their kit was the only one out then at $1,299 with a forum discount of $100. This wasn't too bad as along with a pulley it came with a fuel pump mod to correct the a/f ratio and a custom intake. The instructions where very complex and I was afraid to do it. Not one person on any forum I participate in has actually bought one for the coupe. The two most common pulleys on this forum are the Kleemann pulley at $599 for steel ring or $899 for a alloy pulley or the ASP alloy pulley direct from the manufacturer for $350. The plus of the alloy pulleys is they result in 9 more HP per Kleemann's claim. The pulleys have been out for the coupe for a relatively short time but on the SLK forums, the pulleys have been in use for years and short of installation problems they have been trouble free.
Most other pulleys are variations on the steel ring and are from Renntech, Vaeth, H&S, and Brabus. Also I know of 2 companies working on pulleys that are not out yet. There is one other company in Sweden that makes a pulley but their website is in Swedish and I can't make it out.

Their website in Sweden is http://www.bsrab.se/ I heard about this on the Benzsport.com forum. Let us know what it's all about, Kleemann or their very own?

Sorry I had the idea that it was another web page you where writing about, there is no picture of the pulley on the BSRAB
but they write there are pulleys, air filter and a chip. you have to bring the car ( can be a little difficult for some of you ) it takes 2 days and cost roughly US $ 2000,00.
DtS, I called KLEEMANN DK for you today, you can buy the KLEEMANN pulley at a company called Motor Nord in Sundsval
( I am not 100 % sure I got the City right ) or a company called
Tuning Chip in Stockholm.
But I thing you should go to DK, and see some real cars.

Favorite mod....hmmm. Right now I will have to say it is the BiXenons. They are so bad ***. They make the car look "newer". But I am also looking forward to my next 3 mods, so my preference will probably change.
