know what is funny, if you look at all of hawks posts, he is usually trying to get a rise out of us and thought he would with this post.. He doesn't realize that most of us appreciate all good cars across brands (#1 on M6 list here!)

Funny thing is, the 400m (1/4 mile) test time that he posted for the E60 M5 in this m5board.com post was 12.55 seconds at 191.9 km/h (120 mph), so while it definitely is faster in time-speed, in a 1/4 mile run it would seem to be pretty close...and that's with two extra gears in the M, although there are other tests which are even closer, i.e. the one above that he, of course, did not post here. Whaddaya suppose will happen when Benz installs the seven speed auto in the AMGs?? Hmm??

Braking was the only negative in their review....again proving the 55 is not the worst handling car on the planet. You could see it was diggin and diving far more than the B's, but they didn't hate it enough to comment.

I also pointed out, accurately, that one of the mods had verified that the IP block from which gabri343, who vanished from here a week or so before "the hawk" showed up and did basically the same thing, and the IP block of "the hawk", were the same.

By the way...Ricky you've been doing a great job at moderating. Keep it up.

Drove the Alpina after I had ordered the E55 ... no regrets with my order at all!
Aplina still a nice car though - but stripes look out of place .... don't agree its equall 2nd with E55 though ...
Still have to drive the M5 to comment with any authority - nearly bought the older version until I came across the E55. BMW have always made fabulous engines and the V10 is no exception.
I just prefer a low down torquey motor than a high revving lower torque motor.
