The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Was there anything written so far in the thread which claims otherwise?
It takes a helluvalot of talent to get into the 11's, even in a car that's capable of hitting them, with a manual tranny!!

I agree, I have driven the new Z and it is very hard to launch. It takes plenty of practice. I am very close to pulling the trigger on a 06 SL65 even though I have a slot for a new 07 Z in Jan. I miss my old AMG beast. The car will be coming from the West Coast, and since I am tight with the boys from Kleemann I may have them do the ECU tune. Should bring the car close to 700HP and about 830TQ. Should be a fun car for the next 18 months.

I have seen plenty of C6Z06's run at the track and many of the first timers had to abort the run due to traction issues. They are indeed much harder to launch and being bracket consistent is a different story.
I read from people that were there (remember you left early) that said it was bone stock and people specifically questioned the tires and they said stock tires. If they did put on drag radials which seems strange they would do it at the track 1 second is a HUGE gain from just tires and most that switch to the drag radials pick up a couple tenths.

This is a very impressive time. At that altitude, just using simple NHRA elevation corection factors on the 11.55 @ 120.44 corrects to 11.40 @ 121.99 .
Factoring in humidity and temperature would doubtlessly bump the ET down and the trap up (if the timeslips have this info, please let me know the info and I'll plug and chug). And this is the car that allenlambo was gonna beat??
