Need Assistance - No Spark
1992 190e 2.6 119k auto, roof ,leather.
I have no spark. Traced it to the ignition coil. Power goes in to coil but not out. Could there be a problem with the position pick up on the crank shaft? Also how would I go about testing that? and How do you test the coil? Washed motor a month ago (IDIOT) Before I put waterpump in. Please , I need some help...Thankyou

That is where I would start! Cap and rotor if they have not been replaced already! And hey wait til you get her running first before you sell her off! They are a labor of love, but well worth it in the end!

Most likey the rubbers are still attached. But remove the air cleaner housing and check to make sure the rubber hoses are all attached under there. Cleaning the motor could have knocked one off! Thus causing a major air leak and thus your problems. The Idle Air Control Valve is under the air cleaner housing.

No Problem! When those pieces crack bad enough the engine will not start! Also if the intake boot between the Air Flow Meter and Throttle Body as well.

Position pick up sensor
Put new wires distributor, rotor, coil wire on. I have a good spark, Put the air cleaner on, fresh fuel added, Air cleaner looks good. The car seems that it wants to start, It gives a small backfire. Backfire is at the very first time I try to crank it, After that the revolutions will speed up upon trying to start every so often. I checked firing order plugs dist. Everything seems to be in order. There is one vacuum line that not sure of. it comes off the I believe the idle speed adjuster(see Pic). I think that line goes to the hose that is attached to the valve cover. The other thing is i took the position pick up sensor off to change water pump originally. Would that have something to do with what is happening. The manual is very detailed, Just does not tell me if that could be problem. I will look closer thru the manual. Does it have to be reset? Thanks for your help.
PS the red circle is the unit where the vacuum line comes off of, yellow is where the vacuum line goes.

That is the Fuel Pressure regulator. The vacuum line goes over to the big rubber hoses that connect to the IACV and the intake. Should see a plastic looking connector that has a place to put it.
