m104 engine swap for w201?
I own a 85 190e 2.3 5-speed. I just bought a 97 c280 wrecked for $300. What is going to take to get the m104 running in the w201. I know about changing the rad supports and the flywheel issue. What i really need to know is how to wire up the ecu. i know about standalone systems but i am trying to make that my last option i have a whole car to work with i would like to go with that. I apreciate everone's help!

I dont think anyone on here will know how to do this. No offense. There is a lot of knowledge on this forum. But, for what you want to do, you might want to try http://community.190revolution.net/ They are a site specifically devoted to w201. That community has more knowledge of engine swaps I believe. They do a lot of crazy mods over there.

He's already been there.
Basically, he's working with the wrong chassis. Putting the M104 into the 4 banger chassis is much harder than putting into the 2.6L, which is almost "plug and play."

I usually start my drifts between 20-40 mph. depending on road condition, how much space I have and traffic. It can be done in the 190 2.6. Its a lot of fun but it really wears out the car very fast. These cars are old and when you put that much weight onto parts of a car that weren't build to have that kind of weight put on it, you start messing things up.
If you want to learn how to drift, you first start by watching how to video's, then really understanding the concept of what you are doing and how it works, then you just try it. If you don't hit anything, you try it again. You do it till you figure it out.

well, I'm looking to buy one as well... What i mean is, if you don't already know how to get a power slide going don't attempt it. Its basic car control to know how to power over in a turn to get a slide going. Then its basic balance to get the car to do what ever you want.
