91-vs 92 201 transmission question
My question is this-- the 92 and 91 trans differed, only in that the 92 has a vacuum device on the kickdown cable at the trans, and a solenoid located on the left side of the firewall. The 92 suffered from hard kickdowns, and Im wondering if this could have been caused by some failure in this vacuum system. Does anyone know what it is for, and could it cause hard kickdown shifts?
Joe
Id like to have an idea of the function, and if it contributes to this hard kickdown of the trans i removed.
thanks, Joe.
seems like you are very familular with how this trans shifts via the kickdown. I thought it kicked down via throttle cable... how did you acquire this info... do you have a manual or something? reason I am asking is because I have a 92 and it had a rebuilt trans... now it shifts as early as possible no matter how hard I press on the throttle, unless I manual shift through the gears.
I have asked on 190rev and mechanics, everyone said it was the valve body inside the transmission that needs to be replaced.. but I am thinking its this vacuum hose! maybe its just been disconnected all these years lol
thanks
