Soon to be a 190e owner

I found a 1990 MB 190e 2.6. I think I should have it this week. I think it's smoke silver. its the color of the two toned mercedes in the pic. Does any one know the top color and the lower trim color codes?
It has Parchment leather interior. The drivers door is separating. how easy is this to fix or where can I find a new door. The interior looks brand new.
I am planning a few mod. like painting the black bumper trim the same as the lower half of the car. and clears on the front markers. much like the car i posted below.
Also I want to change out the rims. to 17'' or 18'' mercedes rims. I do like the '98 clk rims on the solid color 190e . Its funny i think they look horrible alone but love them on the 190e. Am I crazy? are 18'' to big? I dont want to be too ghetto. I like all the rims on the pics below.

I think I'm going to like this car. I have a Porsche 944 and Its expensive to repair. $1600. for an ac compressor, $700. for a waterpump. and thats the price for the parts, not including labor. The parts for MB are WAY cheaper. On my porsche you have to change out the timing belt every 30,000 to 45,000 miles. If it breaks on you it a very expensive repair job. So on the 190e, how often do you change the timing belt and how expensive?

Hope to have pics up soon along with the mods.
I know this is alot. I hope someone out there can help.

Paint codes, and other accessory codes, are stamped onto a metal plate attached to the radiator support. They will also be on a paper data card if it's still with the car. Also, the data can be obtained on the Russian Mercedes Club's VIN checker or provided by MBUSA if you send them a copy of your state owner's registration.

Nearly all attempts to repair the peeling covering fails, regardless of the amount or type of adhesive used. A clever fix is to use a piece of contrasting trim along the edges to hide the separation, but it has to be applied to all the doors to match.

Mercedes only uses belts for the accessory drives, such as a/c, alternator and power steering. The engine uses a chain which has a spring loaded tensioner. If properly maintained, the chain lasts as long as the engine, but if it's been neglected by not being kept in proper tension, the loose chain can cause wear on the timing gears or crack the plastic chain guides, which can cause expensive repairs. Have the chain inspected and consider changing the tensioner just to be on the safe side.

decoding date on radiator support plate

I'm looking at a 190D, 1985. How does one interpret the data on the metal plate attached to the radiator support?

Thanks

John
