Unhappy 1984- 2.3 8v just got it for winter.

i really like my new car, i replaced fuses and most accessorys work.
#12 fuse blows instantly when put in place. old style ceramic barrel fuses. ouch!

two questions- am i putting the right fuse in, 10A? (red)
and where do i start looking for the short?

the fuse is labeled: cent. locking, aux fan, radio, ect. i have no clue where to look.

note: the car also came to me with an aftermarket anti theft system installed poorly- should i attempt to remove this? i dont have the fob.

car works great otherwise- although it has a tendency to kill batterys- alternator tests fine and i do have a cheap non oem battery.

cheers thnx for the help.

edmonton.

i think thats suppose to be a 20A. Does it blow when you put the heat on?

Glad the fuse fixed it.

I don't know about cutting coil springs, but others around here do.
