w201 vs. w202
So I was talking with my dad while i was driving on the highway today. He noticed that the car is not as stable on the road as it is supposed to be on high speeds (80-100)mph. He used to own a red 190d 1989 and he said that when it stepped on the highway it was really stable, no matter what wind or road, it didn't move, he said it's like it's glued to the ground. However my 1999 c280 is not as stable compared to my dad's ex-car. Like even i feel it the rear of the car goes a little bit left and right like in a wavy motion, barely felt though. I have a year old bridgestone potenzas pole position (really good tires) stock rims and stock everything else. I'm thinking about lowering the w202, do you think that might solve the problem? Can you tell me if there is difference between the models and only if you owned or currently own the w201 and are owning or owned the w202 after that.
Thank you so much

Owned a C36. Bought it stock and modded it out. Bought my first cossie 190 for a daily to bring to college, and never went back to the 202 scene. Parted out the C36 and now I got 3 201s in the driveway. the AMG was a good daily, but not as fun as a 201. Stock for stock I even love the cossie better due to how fun in the turns they are. My 202 was wonderfully stable all the way up to 155. I would check your wheel bearings, tie rods, slam it, and get an alignment.

like i'd like to have the fun of sport springs, but still keep the comfort of the benz.

I would suggest Eibachs or H&Rs. if you want the ride to not be too stiff you could just keep the bilstein HDs that are already on your car.

better ride meaning? 201 is far more superior for the track and serious driving. the 202 is quieter in the interior and can be a smooth ride with the stock set-up, but who likes smoothness?

Are you sure it is the car that is causing the squirm, it could be the road? The I15 south out of Las Vegas has large grooves and it causes most cars to squirm back and forth, especially wide tires (so it doesn't effect the 190E so much).

I've got a 92 190e 2.6 with almost 222,00 miles and the car is extremely stable at all speeds. My mother used to have a c220 w202, my 190 rides smoother and is more stable than the c220, however the c220 was quieter.
