You have a vacum issue somewhere in the tempmatic system. There is a long thread on the subject on benzworld dot org. There is a heater valve under the leaf screen in the compartment next to the battery. Vacum is lost somewhere and not holding that valve up to cutoff coolant flowing through the heater core. The simple fix is to take the valve off, remove the vacum bellow from the bracket, use a zip tie to lift and block the coolant flap and reconnect. In the winter, reverse procedure so you have heat again. Hard to describe and best that you read the thread.
