MB 190E 2.3 16V (Peru)
Hi,
I just bought a 1984 Mercedes Benz 190E 2.3 16V.
The car used to be DB199 Glasurit Black/Blue paint (ID PLATE) but i bought it painted in a weird "metallic brown"
So im starting to work on the body first and then the mechanical parts.
Wish me good luck and feel free to subscribe.
All comments and suggestions are welcome.
The idea is to paint the car in DB702 "Smoke Silver" + Coilovers + AMG Monoblocks II.
Im creating this thread as a build thread so expect a lot of pictures of the building process.

Strange; up to what I know, 2.3-16 valves came only in 1986-87. Not in 1984.
I have a 1986 one manual. Only 2 colors: smoked silver, and black.

hmarmaizmd717,
Yes indeed the car was launched in 1983 and in 1984 they had that famous show race in Nurburgring with 20 F1 Drivers. The "unknown" driver that won that race was Ayrton Senna.
This car came 2.3 16V in 1983-84-85 in 1986 it came in 2.5 16V.
My car is the US SPEC version with 167HP and not 185HP as the Euro-Spec.
So here are some pictures of my car.
SENNA EDITION (seems legit )

Stolen from the SENNA Museum in Brazil from a 2.3 16V with a SENNA inscription on the side and a big 11 in the rear!
Because im removing all the paint my brother knifed that stupid thing so no damage was made.
Also i want to buy new badges because the last owner ruined them with those ugly rivets.

In regards to the rivets I guess it makes sense if you live in an area where people would just find pleasure in stealing your emblems. I was born in Ecuador and remember how people would steal emblems from a Suzuki Vitara! I don't believe it is like that anymore though...

The engine was rebuilt a few thousand kilometers ago. The car runs good but still im taking it to a good Mercedes Benz Workshop near my house and im going to re-check the entire car.
