The Bosch CIS isn't really "chip"-able. The air intake is already a high flow, cold air intake. Save your money for maintenance.

oh thanks, i didn't realize it was already a high flow, i would like to put a cone filter in and elimintate the airbox, i just love the sound and it would probably boost hp a little (not much but whatever), with a housing around it... the reason i asked about the chip is because i unfortunately i own an automatic 2.3 -16... one of only 400 in the u.s. i have heard. this weekend i'm going up north to look at a 5 speed with lower miles. so if anyone is looking for an automatic 1986 2.3-16 pm me. the transmission is solid and smooth and will redline when 2 and 3 are used. i don't know much about the top speed on it cause i haven't pushed the car except once (ive owned it for a week). it has stock shocks with eibach springs and 17 inch american racing rims. euro headlights and clears, 10 inch infinity sub 160,000 miles

Using a cone filter, even with that chrome plated "heat shield" in the 2.3-16 is likely going to DECREASE performance, since you'll be drawing in the warmer engine compartment air. For any hope of more HP, you'll need to plumb the system to draw cold air from the bumper area and avoid the intake of water during rains. It may be hard to resist the need to be "trendy" but you have to acknowledge that the folks in Stuttgart knew what they were doing when they designed the 2.3-16.

Check the hydrualic fluid. The rear supension is Hyrdo pneunmatic. This might be what is causing you ride to be hard. Also remeber this is sports car, the suspension is kinda harsh. I have both a '84 2.3 16 and a 190e the suppension difference is quite noticeable. If the shocks are bad (which i highly doubt, you can get new ones from blistein http://www.bilstein.com/pdf/PassengerCars.pdf

Good luck.

Its not the shocks. It most likely the Air Cell's, $110 each from Performance Products (32-001).

Or you can rip out the self-leveling stuff and put in some sportline struts.

Good luck!
