What are the best looking 19" wheels for the E55?

Hey guys,

I just recently picked up a Brillant Silver E55 and need new wheels ASAP.

I want a wheel that is very lightweight and of course look great. However, performance is my primary concern, elegant aesthics second and rareness a close third. I like the fat lipped HRE style look, but they seem to be on every other car on the planet. I am not too concerned about price, but don't want to get ripped off.

I am looking at at HRE Competition, Brabus, BBS and Carlsson. What do you guys think? Please post pics if you can.

Thanks for your help
Tony

Best looking, I'm going with these guys, SL65 rims. DEFINITELY not the lightest however.

For light, go with RennTechs or HRE's.

Tony I see that you got the E55 that you wanted... Congrats man! I have a set of SL65 rims for sale if you want... They are the 2 piece multi colored but sort of special edition. Most SL65 rims come in 19x8.5 and 19x9.5. Mine are 19x10's in the rear.... Let me know if your interested. I sold my E55 btw....\\

Light weight is important to me

The Renntechs are another good option as well and I read they are light.

Any idea how much a 19" Renntech wheel weigh? I also read somewhere that Carlsson wheels are light as well.

I plan to stay away from the regular (non-Comp) HRE line, since they are generally heavy wheels.

How much do the SL65 wheels weigh?

Thanks again guys!

CCW makes some fine wheels and are very reasonably priced. Superb service, too.

you wanted performance first (weight) then i would take the renntech, carlson or hre comps. second you wanted looks. same order renn, carl them hre comps. third you wanted to be orignal none of the above but HREs are eveywhere. renns and carlson are not to badd i like both wheels alot but personaly would get the renns due to the fact i have all their engine mods. in the end its what YOU want not what we think is good.

Congrats on the new E55 Tony... you should buy Christian SL65 wheels. If you do that, we can swap wheels for a while... I'm getting bored of mine.

I think the CLS55 wheels on my beast are one of the better looking ones, although definitely not one of the lightest.

Thanks for the tip on the Brabus and will pass on them. I definitely want a lightweight wheel. I believe Carlsson has a wheel they call the superlight, which I would assume is light unless the name is misleading. I don't remember what they look like though.

Are the Carlsson's more of a European look versus trendy? It seems everyone nowadays are making black centered wheels with fat chrome lips

BTW, any idea how "ultra light" the Carlssons are?

Thanks

I still say take a look at CCW. These pics of my beast were taken for their website.
Ask vrus what he thinks about CCW. Both our cars are in the E55 gallery @
