With kind permission of Jangy we are proceeding with further power upgrades.

Next on the agenda is 80 mm TB kit and our own design shorty headers.

I will post further updates as we progress.

Stay Tuned and thank you for listening.

Hehe!! now it is time to put the tuners to the test. Lets see what everyone is getting from their mods. I showed up stock and pulled a rookie move, so i want to go more and put some numbers behind the mods!!

What, new inlets and Y pipe instead of a VRP 80mm airbox? Or does the VRP CF airbox come later?

HAHA!!, actually that is how it all started. I was in on VRUS' initial R&D with the box. I never installed it. Vadim installed it when they did the 550hp setup and now he will bore it out to fit the 80mm TB. I just gotta save up for the pythons and engine cover.

Yes, new inlets. Air box will be a separate option. We dynoed Jangy with stock 55 airboxes.

Is a pulley included with this kit?

I noticed a 1 lb drop after deleting my primary cats and installing the 80mm TB. I had to compensate with a smaller pulley and tune.

I'm just curious if the AMG 55 motors experience this as well.

BTW, Jangy, very nicely selected mods. You will be more than pleased.

Thanks, dude. I am excited.

You mean you had to go up in size, right? I'm expecting to lose about a pound, too but I also hope to be more efficient.

Will the VRP TB work with a W208 Kleemann CLK55? Will you be dynoing before and after with just the TB added?

My system is similar to Blackbenz's Kleemann setup, so in order to raise the boost I must change the SC pulley to a smaller one. You guys raise boost by altering the crank pulley. In the end the same results are accomplished.

Jangy, I believe you will loose about a 1lb of boost as I did. But not to worry, as my system did become more effecient and produced more power at lower boost.

This is why I asked if a pulley part of this upgrade.
Personally, I've decided to raise the boost back up to what it was prior to the AMG TB in order to feel the true potential of the 80mm TB.

Last week I tuned and dynoed the car. It made 26rwhp with the AMG TB alone, and I'm running it on a 5.0L M113.

Anyways, good luck with the upgrade. Like I said before, you will be pleased with this combination.

PS, thanks again for the mod you sold me some months back. I realy appreciate it.

Aaaaahh!! I get it. I wasn't even thinking the SC pulley, because I am too scared to mess with it. I am glad to hear that you had similar results as my expectations. I am sure the time will come when I will challenge the efficiency of the SC itself, or let Vadim add some Turbos to get the boost back up.

I'm still torn between replacing the entire system, having separate systems, or just upgrading the current one with the IC and a Johnson 90. I'm thinking that the Code 3 IC and a Johnson may be enough? I haven't gotten any datalogging done yet. i get the ride back teusday.

Dude, I wasn't even getting the cams. You went loony and jumped from playing with the head to digging into the bottom. NO WAY!!!
I'm staying out of the engine until I break something. Replacing the SC is another thing. LOL!!!

I know dude, I went insane! Hey man, what can I say?

Well, in that case, try to break your stuff so you can upgrade! Cool?
Hey bro, I want to be able to thrash it with confidence!
