Lower Control Arm Bushings
Hey Guys & Gals! Just have a quick question, do you guys know of a place where I can have my lower control arm bushings replaced? Specifically in the Fremont/Newark area? Fletcher Jones wants $900 because of labor.
My service advisor said that this is causing my vibrations between 55-70mph. Lol! He advised me to look around because he cannot lower the labor cost.
Anyway, thanks again!

My car has a slight vibration around 50-65.
I'm going to replace the lower ball joints and outer tierods this weekend. The rubber boot for the ball joint is completely flat and so are the tie rod end boots.
Are your bushings cracking? Mine look fine.

Here's a thread on LCA bushings worth reading...
https://mbworld.org/forums/c36-amg-c43-amg-w202/117233-has-anyone-changed-their-lower-control-arm-bushings-themselves.html
LPD's current Ebay listing:

I had the stock bushings changed out on my CLK55 with polyurethane bushings and the little shimmy was eliminated!
FWIW - I have no connection with LPD - just that their product has worked fabulously on my CLK55. Even their customer service is good....when I tracked my car in September, one of the bushings failed and after pics were sent to them documenting what happened, they promptly sent a replacement bushing at n/c. Since then, I've tracked the car 2 more times and no issues.
Good luck.

Thanks Chappy! I came from VA and the salt there was bad! I guess thats why my bushings have been shot for a while. Bookmarked that website...still need a reputable place here in the bay area that won't cost an arm and a leg...lol

Oh ya Chappy...one more thing...can I do this by myself? I mean i'd imagine I'd need a lift and I'll probably have to remove the spring and suspension. I just have a garage and a jack so...lol...help?

It's not a very easy job. If you plan on doing any suspension upgrades I would do the bushings at the same time. I'm in the SF Bay Area, and I have a couple of Mercedes techs that can do it on the side. PM me and I'll give you the info.
