OK, first things first before we get to far along.. Are the mpg numbers based on the numbers of the ECM (computer calculated) or are you guys hand calculated you fuel mileage.

When you post please say if you are posting your displayed fuel or hand calculated.

Thanks, Troy

I got 21.9 on motorway trip (120mile), avg 85mph on cruise. 700 miles on the odo.

But I've a feeling UK gallons are different than US?

Best wishes
James

after some highway driving this afternoon....

i am keeping a log on mpg's, so i'll follow up with hand calculations on my next fill up. so far i am averaging 16 mpg (per the computer) during break in.

i didnt buy it expecting it would get 20mpg, i'm just curous more than anything.

I get about 20-21 cruising at 60mph for 30+miles on the car's computer, on average ive been getting around 15-16 combined.

But, i get about 7-9 driving how i like to drive on less crowded streets!

Has anybody checked yet to see how accurate is the factory millage computer compared to hand calculations? Example, computer says 20.2mpg, hand cal. tells you 18.9mpg.

ouch with mpg like that i think i'll have to opt for the m3.

i used to like the c55 over the e46 m3, simply because it was more comfortable and seemed like a better daily driver.

yet strangely enough, now it seems that the c63 is too much and the m3 is just enough

Test drove a demo M3 the other day. The dash was showing mpg in the mid-high 8's. I don't think you're going to be picking up any hippie chicks in either car.

What I like!
By hand calculation I got 16.7 on my 2nd tank of gas. 75% freeway at speeds of 70-80mph and plenty of stop and go, with A/C on. 25% surface streets. After a few more tanks I will compare that with the trip computer's calculations that have been accumulating since I got the car.

In my first 2 tanks I went about 225 miles before the low fuel light came on.

Not the greatest range, and it's a gas guzzler, but I love it.
