Turbo Porsche gets a slap!
Hello all: Here I am Sunday morning 101. I get on freeway ahead of a brown maybe 02 Porsche. Look back a couple miles and he is coming up fast. I get a clearing in front and we are doing about 80. I hit it and so does he and then trys to go around me. All I know is that I was ahead of him til about 140and then I let up to get off. I suspect that he could pass me eventually if we kept going. Dam our cars have ***** on the top end

there are a lot of fake turbo around here (LA) every other P-car has a turbo badge talk about posers! that said i was looking at an 01-02 turbo S this weekend and sorry but there is now way your car could even hang, that thing pulls like a bat out of hell! i do love the W210 55 so much that car is just so well built over the new ones!

There a few annoyances, but thats with most Mercedes of this generation. Its not as bad as the 320/ 430, but its still pretty lacking, expect to change the rotors / pads every 12-15k miles and god awful fuel economy. The worst is the quirky electronics in the car.
Honestly if I were you I would opt for the X5 4.6is, ten times better to drive, more reliable and its in the same price bracket to pick up. The only advantage the ML55 has is that its a teeny bit quicker up top and has a low range box. (which unless you live in an area where it snows you'll never use.) At the time my pops bought ours the BMW held its value FAR better than the AMG.

Stock non turbo Carrera's are slow in my opinion. I've had several. Mostly 993's. The turbo's are a lot faster. My last was a 96 993 C4S - twin turbo that Proto-Tech built. Now that car was fast. I would say an E55 would eat up a stock non turbo Carrera!

How was the acceleration of the twin turbo 993 compared to your V12TT?

He was definitally not pacing He was making a great effort to go around me and pass me. Turbo's are very quick! I know. But our race was from about 80mph to 140mph. I know he was tring and I know I was infront the whole time. What you think should have happened (him beating me) did not happen With that superchip my upper end pulls like a freight train
