*** VRP's Ported S/C ***

Seems like the ultimate setup would be to port and rework the blower, change the drive gear ratio, and add a larger pulley.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Yes, I was referring to a larger crankshaft pulley.
Lets all thank Finny for pics of the gears here.

I believe Sunil is picking the car up from MB today and will be able to drive it and put some miles on all the new parts..
Dyno to follow in the near future...
The 2 gears on the right, although look like they can be removed, cannot.
once you remove the nut on the front of the gear, the back gear is pinned. I've had this stuff taken apart as far as it can go..
Also, the way that MB's OEM does the bearings on these makes it very hard to replace them.
They put the bearings in place, and then inject a liquid which hardens around the bearings and seats them in place.. Once this seal is broken there is no way to put the bearings back without being able to do this procedure.. good luck finding someone that can do it.. i tried...
you guys ready...........
email from my buddy there
Without one, the core price is $3300.00 for a grand total of $24,050 retail, $19,240 your cost. WOW. No gearing is sold separately.
Then I asked just for more fun how much an SLR motor costs fresh from the dealer.
again, hang on.............
Get a load of this s&*(: an M155 motor for the SLR will run you $118,090.00
The car was "tested" down in Houston by Sunil and his techs. I asked them to drill & tap into the surge tank and hookup a boost guage.. It was hitting 15psi which is what we want so there is no boost loss issues.
All I can say is what Sunil told me over the phone:
I will try and remember the exact quote...
"Vic. I was driving the car with 2 other guys in there with me. We were going onto the freeway onramp which is slightly uphill and at 80mph the car went sideways it was spinning so bad. Thank god the ESP was ON otherwise we would of probably wiped out. This car is a complete monster."
That's basically all I know right now.. Car is on its way back to it's owner. I'll get some more direct feedback once the owner has had a chance to drive it a bit.
