A friend of mine sent his 55 blower to http://www.stiegemeier.com/home.html and he was very impressed with the stock 55k blower. It was his opinion that porting on our blowers was good for maybe 10-15 horsepower. He is a very nice guy to talk to and seemed very honest so my buddy decided to do it anyway. He never got a chance to dyno to confirm any gains. Hopefully we will see some results soon.

Streamlining flow is a good thing (reduce drag), but I think increasing volumes anywhere is a bad thing as your boost willl drop off as the S/C now has to work harder / spin faster to provide the same boost over the same volume....

I tend to agree with the statement above, and this is also where polishing would help as well.

Hey Victor...
What are your thoughts on changing the gear ratio of the Komprossor? ![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
Seems like the ultimate setup would be to port and rework the blower, change the drive gear ratio, and add a larger pulley.

The S/C was installed in the VR700 car that is in Houston.. The hurricane put a damper on the plans and then the car got stuck inside MB because they were without power for a while.
I believe Sunil is picking the car up from MB today and will be able to drive it and put some miles on all the new parts..
Dyno to follow in the near future...

You cant do it... it's the first thing we looked at doing was to replace the gears.
The 2 gears on the right, although look like they can be removed, cannot.
once you remove the nut on the front of the gear, the back gear is pinned. I've had this stuff taken apart as far as it can go..
Also, the way that MB's OEM does the bearings on these makes it very hard to replace them.
They put the bearings in place, and then inject a liquid which hardens around the bearings and seats them in place.. Once this seal is broken there is no way to put the bearings back without being able to do this procedure.. good luck finding someone that can do it.. i tried...

My SC has been ported for 6 months now. It . I think its actually a good mod, but does creat more heat soak. So if you get this mod, make sure you also get the full cooling upgrade.

Funny this thread popped up. Called my guys at the dealer and asked just for kicks what the SLR supercharger costs (has the shorter gears we all want)
you guys ready...........
email from my buddy there
Without one, the core price is $3300.00 for a grand total of $24,050 retail, $19,240 your cost. WOW. No gearing is sold separately.
Then I asked just for more fun how much an SLR motor costs fresh from the dealer.
again, hang on.............
Get a load of this s&*(: an M155 motor for the SLR will run you $118,090.00

How so? the heatsoak? Wouldn't it reduce friction and it's byproduct heat? I ask because I've been wanting to send my blower to steigmeier for a while now.

The S/C was installed in the VR700.
The car was "tested" down in Houston by Sunil and his techs. I asked them to drill & tap into the surge tank and hookup a boost guage.. It was hitting 15psi which is what we want so there is no boost loss issues.
All I can say is what Sunil told me over the phone:
I will try and remember the exact quote...
"Vic. I was driving the car with 2 other guys in there with me. We were going onto the freeway onramp which is slightly uphill and at 80mph the car went sideways it was spinning so bad. Thank god the ESP was ON otherwise we would of probably wiped out. This car is a complete monster."
That's basically all I know right now.. Car is on its way back to it's owner. I'll get some more direct feedback once the owner has had a chance to drive it a bit.
