Please Help: Info on Installing CO'S

Hey all I am in the process of getting some H&R CO's for my 2002 coupe.

I have found a good place to install them for 270 with the alignment. I just wanted to know if I will need anything specific other than the CO'S for install. Also I will be running my factory 16's until I can pony up some $$$ for some 18's or 19's. My main two questions are will I need spacers now with the 16's and I was reading about people who were mentioning pads # 1-4 do I need to do anything with these?

Thanks for any help

Sam

Anyone have any input?

Also anyone have an idea of when the CO'S go bad? I am planning on getting a used set that has about 20k miles on em.

Thanks

Need some help... hoping someone will be able to assist... I had a set of 18" Brabus replicas:

F: 18 x 8.5 (ET35) 225/40
R: 18 x 9.5 (ET35) 255/30...or was it 35, cant quite remember

I decided to trade my wheels for a set of non staggered 19 x 8 wheels and once I got them realised I once again got a crappy offset... ET42... I did research the last time and had a 7mm spacer made up to lower the car with the 18's on my H&R coilovers which worked brilliantly... turned down to the lowest setting no problem...

I had a 12mm space made for the front 19" wheels and according to offset calculation, with a 19 x 8 (ET30-considering the 12mm spacer), I should have 11mm more inner clearance than the 18 x 8.5 (ET28-considering 7mm spacer)... however...

I cant lower the car as much as I did on the 18's... the lowest I can turn the coilovers down to is about 17 turns from the bottom... used to have it at about 3 turns from the lowest with my 18's...

Was considering that it could possibly be the tyres... Yokohama S drives - 225/35 which has quite a square side wall but like I said... I should have like 11mm more clearance... could it be... Could getting tyres with rounder side walls work...

Could anyone with 19's lowered with H&R Coilovers please assist

Bilstein had little inserts w/the shocks to turn the 12mm holes into 10mm holes. I read somewhere on here about someone doing the same. Sorry I don't have a link, maybe try seaching a bit...

Please Tell Me

So the H&R sport springs are on back order for the next 3 weeks for my C.

Mechanic told me to go a different route, i was looking and thought the next two good springs were Eibach and Tein. I dont want Eibach as they rub and have aligment issuses.

How are the Tein S Tech Lowering Springs???
I need some answers as soon as posible. thanks

okay so i have been looking into Bilstein pss9 coilovers and have read about 90% of this thread. but one thing is surprising me right now. i went on Bilstein's website and selected on the first website and the coilovers are $1350, but most the other sites have the same coilovers listed at around $2000.

here is the link...

http://www.ajusa.com/details/Bilstei...on+Kit%0D&vq=&

can anyone give any input on this.

was just reading some posts 2 pages ago about cutting springs. not that i want to do it but was just wondering. doesnt cutting anything but a full coil mess up the postition of the hat on the strut because it seems that the rubber inside where the spring sits doesnt really move at all.

Hello, I want to lower my car and I had in mind to put H&R springs with one coil cut at the front, the thing is I want to put some 19s wheels with 8,5 at the front and 9,5 at the rear. My question is if I'll have any rubbing problems with the configuration I'm thinking about

I have a c240 with TEIN S-TECH lowering springs. Installed it 7 months ago, and now i am feeling that the shocks and struts are giving up, due to floaty ride. Drop is amazing though.

Now am thinking what to install.

BRAND PRICE/PC
1. Bilstein shocks $ 96
2. Koni adjustable $120
3. KYB GR-2 $ 60

I want to make my ride firm and more stable.

am opting for either bilstein or koni but KYB is half off

What do you guys recommend?

I read this whole thread when I should be studying for my finals coming up.
It was worth it. Hahaha, jk.

But legitly, someone in Canada during mid-May picked up a new set of PSS9's for $1350 + Shipping from Shox.com . . .....

I wish money and deals would just appear out of no where for me!
With 3k, I could get the perfect drop and a great deal on wheels

Wow... I was the last poster in this thread like 2/3 months ago.
Guess this thread has pretty much been discussed through...

But during my downtime in China...

I stumbled upon this:

AMG: 22mm Front and 16 mm Rear
Brabus: 27mm Front and 23mm Rear
Eibach: 24mm Front and 22 mm Rear
Evosport: 24mm Front and 19 mm Rear
H&R: 26mm Front and 19 mm Rear
Stock: 20mm Front and 13 mm Rear

Posted by MikeSSw203:http://www.mymbonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2870

Since they are the biggest possible sway bars.. and in this case, bigger is better

I searched online for these Brabus sways and found them for $570 Shipped:
http://westcoastmotorsport.net/store...-p-101887.html

So the question I have is:

Will these fit my car?
Does anyone have info on Brabus's front sways being 10mm or 12mm?

I'm pretty sure my 2006 C280 has the 10mm endlinks on the front (I'll verify by going under the car and checking I guess), and the rears are universal 10mm's anyways for all w203's.

I've already shot them an email.
Thought I'd post and see if anyone else had more info

EDIT: 8/24/2010
Got a reply from said website, and these are no longer in stock, and will never be re-produced. So this route is null and void. Question of whether they are 10mm or 12mm is no longer of relative importance.

EDIT AGAIN:

During my casual browsing of this forum:

NLPAMG posted this when he installed his Renntech Shocks/Struts.

"During the install, the shocks went in perfectly. The struts though, they had to bore out the holes for the sway bar bolts because they were a little too small being that the 2005+ w203's have the sway bars from the C32 AMG (this wasn't a problem, they actually made quick work of this). Other than that, everything went on without a hitch."

So.. does that mean all W203's 2005+ now have 12mm Front Sway Bar Bolts?
Which means, should I order the 10mm or 12mm H&R Sway for the front if I have a 2006 C280?
If I plan on going Pss9's CoilOvers, should I get the 12mm, so that I won't have to sleeve out the swaybar later down the road?

Can someone please confirm/comment/advise?

Our W203 rear suspension was essentially a carryover from those of the W202.
Hardware differs ever-so-slightly in keeping with typical German fashion.

They’re connected perpendicularly to the upright/hub carrier:

i was riding on H&R with stock shock for 80,000 miles and it never made noise for me. The only noise i had from suspension was from front sway bar end links, and loud "thunk" over bumps due to bad control arm bushings.

Can you give a better description of the noise your hearing?

brougth up an old thread apparently ...

guys, i'm thinking of buyang myself an other C-class w203

On my current (pre-facelift) w203 i have the kw v2 kit mounted, the kit that works for front axle's weighing less then 995KG.

my current car is a 220 cdi, and the next one wil be an 06 c320 cdi estate. And I need to know if i will be able to change the KW kit from the old to the new car ...

now the thing is, KW makes 2 differents sets of coilover suspension.

front axle < 995 kg
front axle > 995 and < 1096 kg

does anybody know the difference between these ? which type of car has the heavier front axle mounted ?

I'm guessing the 4matic models ? but not quite sure ...

thx in advance
