HAHAHA!!! No the member had them cut to lower the car even more. H&R does not provide pre cut springs.

NegroC230, Some feel the drop/lowering in front is not enough and cut a half or full coil to lower the front a bit more. This is done with a cutting wheel by the user and is not an option from H&R. Cheers, Greg

This forum amazes me more by the day i am reporting for "duty " to acquire help and give back some advice. I am struggling with my own other post , which is highly unacceptable by Merecedes owners, yet you guys are cutting springs here, ghetto style, and that seems to be alright with Mercedes community....i need to start recording these posts, for future use...

Its not just Mercedes owners that do it. If you want a bigger drop on your vehicle you can cut your springs to get the drop. Even stock springs have been cut. It is not ghetto it is just an easy way to get an extra drop.

and how do you go around the calculations and measurements that were performed by engineers at the factory to accommodate the travel distance of the particular vehicle? How do you know that you will not bottom out , hows the ride quality after such cut? How many perches are you guys cutting? 1/2? one full coil? thats the strangest thing done to a coil spring , right after heating it up with a torch , LOL, which i have seen people do to go around buying a set of lowering springs

Most of the people that get them cut get them done at a professional shop that know what there doing. Its not someone just cutting them on there own guessing how much to cut off.

THE C350
sway bar bushings i would say. they seem to be a problem on the w203's. that is what caused my noise in the front end. maybe someone else can tell you more about how to diagnose it. i did not fix it myself because i didn't have the time but the bill was like 550.

Also possibly sway links. Plus check you don't have a damaged rack bush. Grab tie rods that come out of rack boots & shake. Lie under car & get someone to turn steering back & forth while you listen.

LOL. People who cut their springs don't do so with gardening shears and a flexible ruler. They are done at professional shops...

WOW,I ts like me taking a car to a mechanic shop and telling them to profesionally take of my air intake because it sounds better and not put anything back. IF somebody is cutting a spring designed by a company to STAY THAT WAY!!!!, they are not profesionals they just ripping you off , making you feel sure that it was done profesionally , lol. Get coilovers.

1. he's asking about the front bar. you think I don't know the H&R rear 19mm bar are adjustable? You think if he wanted the 19mm instead of the 22mm rear bar he would bought the Eibach?

2. If you had actually visited Eibach in Corona, CA. you would know the holes are drilled after the bars are bent to spec with the ends flattened to allow the place to drill the holes. making the 10mm hole larger to 12mm doesn't make any structural difference.
