I think they are different... from my research many many moons ago... ahha

I am all over the Bay Area; from SJ to SF to WC... got it covered =)

Let me know if you do find that they are interchangable. Thanks!

If for some reason you guys don't work something out, I have some Stock Coupe springs from a 2002. I'll happily trade you. However I'm in So Cal.

If you want to buy them, I'd take $50 and you pay shipping.

More Coilover Woes

Just thought I would throw this out there, just incase anyone else had a similar issue and can offer advice or to let the guys know that wanna fit H&R coilovers to keep an eye out for a similar issue...

Had my coilovers fitted a couple of months ago and had my ride height set... one day decided to take off the 19's and play around with the ride height to see exactly how low I can go... was busy on the passenger side and seen as I could not go much lower than what the ride height was set at the shop, did not bother with the driver side...

Wednesday i decided to put on my std (15") wheels, which has 31 offset and is a 6J wheel so there should be more than enough clearence for the coilovers and wanted to see how low I could go...

Passenger side... turned the coilovers all the way down... now problems looks major cool... Driver side... could not loosen the spring perch... no matter what I tried, they were stuck... ended up half stripping the teeth on the lower (smaller) nut... now with my luck, they probably gonna tell me it's my fault and I probably have to buy a whole new front strut...

Should probably have gone with the TEIN's or even the freekin (Taiwan) D2 coilovers...

Yes I did spray with some Q20 (supposed to be similar to WD40) but will try WD40 to see if it helps... Also thought the H&R should be brilliant quality but the spring perch and lock nut material seems a bit weak to me... like I said stripped of the 'teeth' on them... looks like I am gonna have to try and buy new ones at least...

They both have the same Lubrizol concentrate in them so should not make any difference.

Thank you sir... you know much more about this than most of us do... in your opinion, do we have any products available in SA similar to PB Blaster or at least what would be the best penetrating lubricant we have available here...

Really appreciate your advice...

PS just so by the way... if you are interested or at least aware of anyone else interested... I have a set of Eibach springs available (Free to good home)... they were in the car for about 6 months or so

'04 C230K HELP ON SUSPENSION SETUP

Hi everyone, Im new to this site and i have an 04 C230k sport, is really great i found this website with alots of information towards my car.

First thing i wanna do to my car is, put some nice suspension setup on my car but im stuck between "Teins basic damper" or "Tein super street" suspension setup. I really want my car to ride smooth on some 19s inch wheels or if any body could help me pick better suspension setup, advice or opinion please feel free and tell me. I would really appreciate very much, Thank you.

Tein basic would do the work just perfectly + height adjustable too

Tein SS is just basic but has another "stiffness setting" like the sleep number bed

how much difference were they?

if like under 300 then i might just go for SS

if is more Basic will do the work perfectly

Thank you for your response back, I appreciate your help.
The retail prices on the suspension setup is...

Basic damper=$1250.00
SS=$1660.00

The difference is $410.00, you think is just worth getting SS besides the Basic damper?

wow i guess Tein raise the price.. before when i still have my coupe, i saw Basic are only going for 800-900 brand new... well for 1660 is not worth it, if you just want some look and ride quality just go for basic

SS is kinda too much because they are kinda close price to Bilstein PSS9 (what i have on my coupe)

CLK (W209) shocks on C240 (W203)?

I just bought a '05 CLK cabriolet and the smoothness is far better than my C240. I'm wondering if I can get CLK shocks/springs and install them on my C240. Anyone know?

H&R COs are probably known to be the softest COs for the w203. In other words, probably the most comfortable

I bought mine from CreativeAutoworks a few years ago. Im sure if you check out the forum sponsors, you could still find find basics for under 900 and SSs for around the same price as H&R COs.
