Question On Updated NAV DVD & OEM Floor Mats
Hi Gang - Two questions:
1) Have any of you purchased an updated NAV DVD from the dealership, if so what is the year of release and the part number (also price).
2) Also I would like to replace my carpeted front floor mats and when I called the dealership, they said that they no longer sell or can get new W211 E55 carpeted floor mats (the black ones with the stitched AMG logo in silver). I was surprised. Any ideas, maybe I can get a set from a W211 E63 (if so can someone please provide me their VIN, as the dealership always wants a VIN now with every order).
Many thanks!
Yasin

No problem....
I saved the part numbers off the bag that the mats came in (it's at home) so I can post those later. The new mats have the "AMG" printing along the rocker sill area like stock and the same snaps to secure them to the floor. However, the color seems to be a little more of a dark grey, than the original mats (which appears almost black). Also, it seems that the nap of the carpet might be a little more "plush" than the original style which was a very dense, flat style of carpet.
It might be that the true 100% original carpets don't exist anymore, so this might be the best you can find short of finding a dealer with an old set from 2006 collecting dust on the shelf somewhere.

I purchased the Jan 2011 Nav DVD and as usual, somewhat disappointing in terms of just how 'updated' it really is....in fact, its approx 1 year old by the time its retailed...and the same with the original one...either way, i found the new one showed certain gas stations that were shut down over a year ago....

Ok, here's the info off the tag:
P/N: A 203 766 50 06
From:
Mercedes-Benz USA LLC
15050 Frye Road
Fort Worth, TX 76155
The tag has both my VIN number and my chassis number, so it seems like they were at least "trying" to match the correct part.... But as you said, there might be a more correct older part number out there somewhere.
I will be interested to see if you can get any more detail on the mats from your own research.

Thanks so much Greg! I will let you know what the parts person at the dealership says after I give her these part numbers.
Very much appreciated.

Greg...weird here is the email I received back from the MB parts person:
"Hey Yasin,
How are you doing? Hope all is well. The part numbers you provided for the nav dvd and floor mats aren’t good numbers. The NAV DVD part number is Q6460262 (03-08), $186.75. The AMG Floor mats are no longer available.
Thanks,
Ann marie"
She is also unsure of the year of release of the NAV DVD but just commented that it was "the latest release"...Weird..any thoughts?

Yasin,
OK, Let see if we can clear up a few things..... here are some details and photos:
Label from the packaging that contained the new floormats:
B66036149
SPORTPAKET VLR-HLR
MERCEDES W/S 211
A shot of the "New" vs. "Original" Floor mats, passenger side....(new on left, original on right)
You can see that the new mat is more of a speckled black color, where the original is that traditional black (almost purple-ish) Mercedes color.
Here is a closeup to try to show the difference in carpet nap... new is more of a cut-pile vs. tight loop style of original mat.
Until yesterday when I shot these photos, I'd never actually put the old and new side by side before.... they really aren't that similar after all. I hope that you can find a better match with your contacts at MBZ. I'd still like to get an original set if they are out there somewhere.
DVD:
Here is a photo of the 2011 NAV DVD (Front Cover)
(Rear cover)
Hopefully those part numbers are legible enough for you to read. If you need a hi-res image to show the dealer just PM me and I'll send you the original image.
Hope all that helps! Let me know what you find out....

Greg - Thanks for posting that!! Looks like the part number on the NAV DVD that you purchased is the same as the part number quoted to me by the parts person at MB (Q6460262).
Shardul - Would you also be able to get the NAV DVD though your connection at MB Sugarland at a reduced cost? Many thanks for letting me know and chiming in.

Q6680606 - $135.60 on parts.com...and oddly enough...the MSRP is $130. Selling at a premium!

Can you confirm if that part number matches the photo of the original style mat that I posted earlier?
I'm willing to buy another set if I know for sure that it will be the closed-loop, low nap style like the original. Obviously I don't need another bad replica set!
Thanks!

No idea. The part # is the same as the original...and the fact they're selling at a premium would lead me to believe they are...but when I got replacements for my C32 (one was stolen at a car wash)...they were the after market ones.
