COMAND Software Update
Changes: Analog clock displays in System menu; time continues to show on NAVI full-screen; in NAVI Bird-eye mode, the sky color for day and night have been updated (color gradient in day mode, stars in night mode); in AUX mode, addition of a Volume menu with two options: Standard and Boost; maybe it's my eyes, but the MB boot-up logo looks a little different too (nice different). There might be more, but that's all I've found.
From reading other threads, I knew that A2DP / bluetooth streaming wasn't going to happen, but I was still hoping. No luck. Checked the engineering menu as well, but HU Parameters still doesn't show BT Audio (like it does for our friends in the E-Class). Oh well, I'll live.
If interested, I can put up some pictures of the post-update COMAND.
Oh, and the best part is, I didn't lose my phone numbers / saved destinations, etc. They said it would take 2-3 hours and I got my car back in the promised time. Free under factory warranty, but I was told folks on CPO warranty or any extended warranty would have to pay for the software update.
Hope this is helpful.

Note to Mods: If you'd like to merge this with another thread, please feel free to do so.
Next on my list - a map update (maybe wait till the 2012 one comes out).. I wonder if anyone here is interested in doing another group buy. I've seen group-buy threads in the past.

And command is covered by warranty? but not maps? '10 CPO here so plenty of warranty left to cover it if it is under it...

Doesn't hurt to ask though. This forum is a great source of information- one person gets something done, spreads the word and then more of us benefit from knowing exactly what to ask for.
COMAND HU version, H/W information (2 images), analog clock in System menu, Standard/Boost volume option in Audio > Aux mode, and starry skyline with clock in Birds-eye Nav mode.
Someone else on this forum (not 100% sure if they had the W204) had a COMAND update after which the display also showed temperature on the screen. Not sure what version they were on because I don't see it.
@xolinlevh: I guess you'd want to compare your HU version with mine. I think that's the COMAND software version.

Of course, if you're just out of your factory warranty, or you ask very nicely, you never know what may happen.
Figure ill call my dealer and check if mine is eligable for the free update anyway. '10 CPO model, but as its 1 year old and less then 50k miles im wondering if that makes it eligible as a original warranty car.....
Back to the update: The clouds (navigation) actually scroll/move and the stars dim at night (if that effect isn't caused by my fatigue eyes after work.
