Rear tires...

Ok so these are my rear Michelin Super Sports after about 22k miles and about 11 months of driving on them. As far as abuse... I never do any type of burn outs. Most of my driving is normal. Only time I ever get on the throttle it's usually at about 50 -60 mph on up (straight line). Every once and a while I'll roll the throttle on a start to give a quick start but no smoke.

I think they look pretty good for the age and mileage. Just thought I would share.

As everyone knows, rear tires usually dont last long on the C63. The fact that you got 22K miles out of the rears is awesome. Another reason why the PSS are great tires.

I have 275 PSS and had to replace them after 7k miles. I drive reasonably, but do have some fun too, but never disable traction control. What size are your tires and what pressure were you running? Your tires wore evenly. I stayed with stock pressure and wore out the center prematurely. The good news was that my new set only cost $67 each due to the mileage warranty.

Looks like an alignment/ inflation problem, the shoulders are barely wearing but the center is gone. I hear people inflating their tires to 45 psi, that's rediculous except for track pressures.

My first set of stock pirelli pzeros (255's) lasted about 2k miles, it was a little ridiculous, I replaced them with 265 pzeros, and they lasted me another 5k miles with me being very light on the gas. I then changed to Michelin's PS2's which lasted for much much longer. maybe a combination of tread compound vs self restraint, I'm not sure lol.
my tires wore very evenly though, almost completely flat across the whole rear tires.

The C63 comes with negative camber from the factory. One way to correct it is going with a camber kit.

Nice! We could never get them to last that long, I wonder why.....

I'd say they wore perfectly too, slight amount of camber shows but that's OEM.

Replying on my phone so it's hard to answer directly. But yes I think they held up really nice. I'm going to replace with the same tire. It's my DD so I do put a lot of mile on the car. I like the P Zeros I has on before but the just didn't hold up as well. I always have them inflate to what is on the door. Is that bad?

It's difficult for me to see from the picture (I am viewing on my phone) but from the wear pattern, it looks like the tires are slightly over inflated. But you did say you set the pressures off of the door sticker. Maybe try dropping it a few psi.

You guys discuss camber and psi. I'm just going to sit here in shock at that notion that anyone could get 22000 miles out of the rear tires on this car. After I go and check the calendar and make sure it's not April Fool's Day I may sit in and listen to the grown-ups talk.

Lots of tread on those puppies. Good for another 20K easy.

Yep brother most of my driving is hwy. Very little in town.

Yeah right. Pulled the car over 100 and felt a slight vibration... Got home checked the tires and vola. It's hard to see the condition of the tires because the outside wear still looks good. You have to get under the car to see the inside wear.

I am at 10 sets of rears to your 1 lol.
Like I said earlier I only got about 10 k miles out of the PZeros. I went back and checked my receipt and bought these in June of 2011 with mileage of about 23k so yep they held up for that long. I took the car to Discount tire in Nov of 2011 to see about the warranty. Based on my experience with the PZeros I figured the Michelins were already shot. They told me the tires look great (after 6months). Basically there was nothing to warranty.

I'd say the last few hundred miles might have been a little, uhm, "less than perfect"

I cant say that they are always at the "door" pressure but when I fill them up that's what they are filled to. I also have a p30 car. Don't know if that changes anything.

You got that right. The last time it rained I was (about 2 weeks ago) the car wasn't as grippy as it usually is
