805-HP AMG GT63 S E Perf - The Quickest MB Ever
Mercedes says the AMG GT63 S E Performance reaches 60 mph in a supercar-beating 2.7 seconds. The new-generation coupe might be bigger with its extra seats, but it's officially the fastest-accelerating AMG production model of them all.
The gas burner alone accounts for 603 hp, but arguably the more impressive number is the combined 1,047 pound-feet of torque.

The car can have a 1 second 0-60 for all I care, I will still never buy one.

Let’s hope a true track version is on the cards to replace the GTR and its ilk soon.

Per the running joke in the movie Wilson's War: Isn't it nice we have all these super-fast cars ... "we'll see." $;-))

As per superswiss' comments, at any speed, you're only seconds of WOT away from "impound speed" (40 kph over speed limit) ... and for that, there's no leeway given (your car is impounded "on the spot).
And that's why I get my jollies via track days! Of course, with these new super heavy-weight AMGs, track days don't look like they'd be much fun and will get even more ridiculously expensive for brake 'n tire supplies.
Maybe the "R" might just be a figure bump and bodykit at most? Someone I talked to who has a few more connections said maybe there won't even be a BS version this time around. All rumors, but interesting nonetheless

Yup, totally agree with forum member superswiss, these cars (this and previous generation GT) are kind of meant for the track (except now they are not as fun due to the weight), street racing is both dangerous and irresponsible especially here in Toronto with constantly bumper-to-bumper traffic. Street racing is an un-Canadian thing to do dare I say.
Maybe just maybe cruising through canyons but can't really do it responsibly with this much power.
