Do you consider the GT55 comfortable enough to take a road trip in it?

It was pretty decent in ride compliance but the roads I was on were quite smooth. I didn’t notice much difference between it and the 63, are the suspensions the same?

What is the weight difference between the two, the weight could also cause ride quality differences.

I've driven both and didn't notice any ride difference. As far as I'm aware the only difference is the engine tuning - all other specs are the same including curb weight (there are some options standard on the 63 but nothing that would impact this).

To clarify I’m referring to the GT 55 vs the GT 63. The SL has a totally different setup and rides very differently.

Does your SL43 have the optional Active Ride Control? If it has the standard suspension, is the ride comfortable enough for a 300 to 400 mile trip? Is the GT55 noticeably better for a road trip?

I am trying to decide whether or not to get ARC on a GT43. I would really prefer to get 19” wheels, but they can’t be ordered with ARC option.

I don't have the active ride control and I have the 19" wheels. I haven't driven 300+ miles but I have gone 100 miles in a day and it was perfectly comfortable. If I was taking a longer road trip I would definitely go with my SL vs GT (with 21" wheels) for the softer ride.

I recently drove a 2022 SL55 AMG....the ride was NOT good. Too stiff...and surprisingly loud for such an expensive car. Expected more sophistication.

Trying to get behind the wheel of a GT 55 to see if it has improved. Don't know why AMG can't make better riding cars? BMW/Audi/Porsche seem to do a better job...room for improvement for sure!

If anyone can compare who has actually driven both, please weigh in on this?

Thanks!
