GT/C192/R192: Wind noise

I think I have this issue as well, from the Driver's side A Pillar, it seems more so on the Driver's Side Mirror side of the A Pillar, more noise than there should be at modest speeds. I also notice it from about 35 mph plus.
The above dealer blaming it on the PPF? What a joke. Is this what I will be up against with MB Service? (This is my first MB, was previously mostly Porsche and BMW.)

Yeah it was very strange. I’m also getting random rattles occasionally, and they even claimed they “fixed” one that was near the front dash speaker cage but didn’t actually. I’m definitely going to try a different dealership with my issues, and I encourage you to do so as well. Please follow up if they end up fixing the wind noise for you!

no plan to involve a dealer as I know they will be useless.
there are also substantial amounts of areas like the interior door handle, main central screen, console etc that make a “crunching up an empty plastic water bottle sound” if I drive over a rough bump.

I’ve so far done around 10 sessions in my garage disassembling panels that are likely culprits, and finding insane sections of hard plastic sitting directly against more hard plastic-absolute shocking discoveries that have blown my mind as to how these were approved and placed into production. I have been creating barriers using felt fabric tape, and while I have killed maybe 4-5 rattle zones, sadly there are many many more that I can’t locate yet.

I’ve so far done around 10 sessions in my garage disassembling panels that are likely culprits, and finding insane sections of hard plastic sitting directly against more hard plastic-absolute shocking discoveries that have blown my mind as to how these were approved and placed into production. but still, the worst of all, is the rattle in the trunk which triggers on when I hit the gas pedal hard, and the pitch of the rattle actually follows the pitch of the engine!!! Disastrous for the experience. Even my wife commented on “what’s that sound”?

GT55 2024. So far I’ve removed and taped up the rear panel of the hatch, the 3rd brake light and all surrounding trim (this piece is a rattling nightmare!!), the trim piece around the top of the rear seat divider area leading to the trunk, panels by the seatbelts, applied pad tape to the passenger seat belt receptacle so it doesn’t rattle against the console, both headrests rattled when not in the pushed back position, lower panels of the passenger footwell are a rattle nightmare. I’m probably missing a few as I have blacked out from rage that I’m spending my limited free time chasing this nonsense around.

no, I think it goes far beyond those foam washers, it’s the structure of the plastic panels sitting against, or directly on other hard plastic. This creates creaking, buzzing, and also changes severity with temperature. Brutally painful!

I'm still have not go thru with trading my 2019 AMG 63 sedan for a 2024 GT 55 despite over 20k on discounts and what I asked for my trade, I went back to the dealer and test drove the car again for almost an hr, the wind noise is there and some rattles tho I have to reall pay attention but still , build quality is mediocre at best, my 2019 does have some noises , including wind noise , I had a 2016 AMG Gt S prior and it was a rough/stiff ride lol.
Not a 100% sold on this new version, maybe with some more discounts,

Hello all, I've been getting some rattles and squeaks from around the infotainment cup area. It drives me nuts and I'm hesitant to bring it in because as someone else said it probably won't get resolved. My question is has anyone else heard these? Any thoughts on how to resolve or is it a turn the music up and deal with it situation?

Per my comments on my review thread, I am one year in and had a visit to the dealer for my A Service and asked them to look at the wind noise issue. They said it is "normal" due to the frameless window design, which is BS.
I am very frustrated by the wind noise, I absolutely love the car other than that issue, but that issue is so bothersome that I may get rid of the car just because of that. Life is too short to be annoyed.
I am curious if the 2026's have the same issue (mine is a 2025), and when the 2027's come out, will they have the same issue. I would bet Mercedes is aware of the issue and will quietly work to fix it for future cars, if it is possible to fix.
I just invested in Ceramic Rotors and Pads and custom 20" Winter Wheels for the car, so I would like to get myself to keep the car if I can.
I am very frustrated by the wind noise, I absolutely love the car other than that issue, but that issue is so bothersome that I may get rid of the car just because of that. Life is too short to be annoyed.

Well, my 2027 car is month’s away but I’m tuned into this issue already and will report back. That wind noise isn’t “normal” for frameless windows. I haven’t owned a Mercedes one but the others all adjusted the windows every time I closed the window to ensure a good seal. Imperfections in the rubber seal and/or a slightly misaligned door or window could cause tiny leaks and the noise. You can try applying silicone grease to the seal, stuff like Shinu Etsu. It’s also a good idea to periodically apply this or some other rubber appropriate protectant on the seal to prevent it from drying out, which can make the noise worse.
How much were your aftermarket ceramic rotors if I may ask? Brembos? That was one option I got on my car.

They need to adjust your window. They remove your inside panel, and it and be adjusted in multiple planes. The car didn't get designed for wind noise etc. Tell your dealership to do the work and fix the issue. This is a very easy fix. Snug the glass up.
