Did you add?
I can't recall which brand I went with but I got them from carid. They made a big difference for sure but I wanted zero dust as I am a clean freak so ended up going carbon ceramic all around.

Im kind of wary of this company... never heard of them. With my M8 and 3 G8X's M3/4's I used I Sweep 1500's and they were outstanding. OEM bite with very very limited fade under heavy braking and usage in events. The problem is I Sweep doesnt make their product for AMG.

Here is my M8 wheel after over 100 miles of stop and go non expressway driving. The camera obviously picks up optics that the naked eye wont even catch:

That is because when I got my gt63 it was so new they didn't show any brakes were available. The dealer cross referenced and told me the 25 gt63 uses the same brakes as the 22 sl55. I have never owned a sl55.

So you upgraded from Steel Brakes to OEM MB Carbon Ceramic Brakes?

What did that cost? Did you go through a Dealer, or source elsewhere?

I love my GT 55, but the Brake Dust with Steel Brakes and stock pads is maddening.

I did. It was right around 12k and I did the install. I went through players club. The calipers are the same for steel and CCB with the exception of the writing on the side. I opted to keep my original calipers, so did rotors and pads. Not only is the brake dust gone but the braking is so much better.

Thanks for confirming the details! I did go to the lowering thread and noticed you still had the yellow calipers. Those look better IMO than the gold calipers anyway. (I might get mine painted black at some point...)

I guess I need to do math between having a car cleaning service come to my house every two days while I own the car to detail the wheels, versus upgrading to Ceramics!

probably a stupid question, but what would happen if we put on the OEM CCB PADS, with our steel rotors?

This is essentially what I just did this weekend. Bought some carbon ceramic pads (see link below) and kept my steel rotors. I did both front and rears. Only have driven on them 10 miles or so but don't notice any difference in stopping power and seems to be much less dust. I'll report back once I've spent more time on them.

Awesome, let me know after a few hundred miles of harder driving what you feel... Im personally looking for OEM bite and limited brake fade over harder repeat stops. The OEM's do give me that.

Yes you can. The only thing to be careful of is ceramic pads will require more heat in them to perform well since they are mated with steel rotors. I tried this on a past car. It was super noticeable when driving on the freeway for a while and brakes were cool. Then you have to panic stop they will not bite well when you first apply them until Temps come up

So the ones that philenan78 put on say Ceramic... will those be susceptible to same concerns while cold as the OEM ceramic pads?
