I might return!! GT63 in my sights! Questions :)

Well Im not sure most here know or remember me but Ive been an AMG fan for well over 20 years owning 12 AMG's or was it 13? I need to re count. Anyways for the past 7 years Ive been running with other brands such as M (alot of them), R8's, RS7's, 911's, and a few randoms. I recently took a quick test drive with a GT63 and I enjoyed it but think I want to do another test drive to be sure. Some questions here for owners or potentials are things I like to do when I get a car; Lower, Exhaust, Possibly Piggy or ECU tune.

Any tangibles with lowering? I read that someone has the KW HAS setup but I cant source that on their website or via my tech.
ECU/Piggy back?
Exhaust? I think the car sounds good so therefore I personally want more!!
Spacers? The wheel gap is rather inward.

Anyways I know modding isnt for all and I respect that but was hoping for some info since the car has been out for a while. The deals are sure to be had right now too with triple net offers plus 15k factory cash on 24's but even the 25's are highly discounted bringing the price point to what it should have been all along.

I appreciate your thoughts.

Hi Vic! I'm glad we meet again! There is no information about the lower suspension yet. KW and others are practically no different from stock. Brabus made the car lower, I can ask them what they did. I have the car for half a year, and it became a little lower after 5000 km. In general, the car is very low, lower than a Porsche. It is necessary to have a front axle lift. As far as I know, the ECU has not been unlocked yet. Renntech has a solution for these cars, look at their website.

George thanks for the reply!!

So I had my tech reach out to KW Germany (as opposed to USA) and there is a kit but it has to be ordered with a 2 week shipping eta...Im good there.
The Renntech unit, after some research, is a piggy back unit (not opposed to it) since to your point, the ECU is not cracked.

I think Renntech has some rear cans too that might make the car louder? Im just typing out loud as I consider the car further.

I don't know about the American version, but for Europe the exhaust is pretty loud! Especially in Sport+ and Race. In tunnels, everyone gets scared if I drive on Sport+. 😂
The exhaust becomes louder after 2500 - 3000 km.

I am running the kw suspension. Very nice set and height is totally adjustable. This was before I set my final ride height and corner balance

Awesome guys and thanks for all the replies (hi Hyp LOL) ...

@Zmangt63 Did you do an exhaust yet or any in mind? I see the RT rear can section and it looks like it might be a cool add. I dont know much about the C192 but I had the OG GTS Edition One back in the day and there was a resonator I think. There was no resonator in my 2018 E63 ED1 (I like to remove that to gain some decibels)

This gives me smiles

I might dump this one but the GT63 has to meet this in regards to performance and driving feel hence my need for another test drive.

I have not touched the exhaust just yet.

Boy this place is slow LOL

I guess it comes with the lack of owners in general.

So I downloaded the owners manual (without having the car yet LOL) and am still trying to understand whats the difference between Pro and Master in the Dynamic setup. I know how to turn them on but want to know whats the differences.

Anyone with experience care to chime in?

Only info I have gathered is on the pro which honestly isn't much different then the gt63. With the mods I do to all my cars my 63 will be better than the pro

Sorry I wasnt clear ...

Within the GT63 (not the pro model) are the AMG Dynamics where one can choose Master and Pro --- Im trying to see what the difference is there but gained some info via the Google LOL.

I'd love to hear your review as well as a comparison to the M8, stock to stock of course. Congratulations.

For sure, today was day 1 and it was raining ....

The M8 100% has a different throttle feel and reaction where the AMG requires more emphasis.

The sound is better in the AMG but the M8 S63tu is not a slouch, just a different tonal experience.

The AMG is more planted and drives with minimal roll along with hardly no compression and rebound (settings in the pic).

More to come.

Hi, could you please share your experience — did the suspension become noticeably softer over small bumps, road imperfections, railway tracks, etc. after installing the KW setup?

On the stock suspension, I sometimes experience fairly harsh rear knocking over uneven surfaces. How does KW compare in terms of comfort and overall ride quality?

I’d really appreciate your feedback.

I would say the ride is slightly improved with the KW. The helper light duty spring helps the little bumps like rail road tracks. The big thing for me is they are softer than the brabus springs. Also another big benefit is they are 100% adjustable for ride height.

Rear suspension knocks can be eliminated by updating the suspension unit software. Ask your dealer to install the latest version of the suspension and roll stabilization system software.
