I also have a c8z06. Had it for 2 years now and it's been great. I agree with what vic said above. I will say the service is much better with the gt63. Gm lacks here big time. Not sure how they will deal with the zr1 crowed which will be me as well. People spending 250k on a car don't want to be serviced with a Malibu next to them.

The build quality in the Z is not near as good as the benz. However the bang for the buck on the z06 is incredible. The sound with the top down is just awesome. I can feel the weight difference for sure as the benz is heavier but does a good job carrying that weight. I have been racing for 28 years, raced corvettes for 8 of those years so I have had a lot of them. I think gm just killed it with the c8z06

ahhaha

Like supreme class problems... that ZR1 is a track crusher of ALL... I think the C8Z06 will be more comparable to the GT63. The ZR1 is on the end of the spectrum in a good way if you are hardcore nut.

Did you test the GT63?

My first test drive of the GT63 was not that fruitful. First off, to be fair, I didnt drive it in the right setting and turn the transmission to ESP Sport. Basically all the dummy proof nannies were ON and I didnt even move the AMG Dynamics to Pro let alone Master. My second test drive was done right: ESP Sport, Sport Plus for the drive mode and Sport for the suspension and Master for the AMG Dynamic setup. Things got good. Not 135mph fast trap speeds but things got more engaging and I was happy to see that this GT cruiser was worthy.

If I drive it I will walk out with it, and I’m fresh out of garage space. It has to be GT or ZR1. The Speedster and F12 I will die with the keys in hand on those two.

Appreciate all of the inputs on the GT63s and Z06s from the owners of both. I love the way the GT63 looks inside and out, and while it’s heavy, it’s still supremely capable from everything I have seen/read. I just think the price point for this car is way above what it should be whereas the Z06 is priced much better. I’m just a little bit concerned about all of the attention the Z06 gets. I drive an E63s wagon now and I really enjoy the anonymity from that. But since my kids really prefer the three row Kia EV9 for all the room it has, I know longer need such a big and practical car and want to get another smaller coupe.

Unless you got on a zr1 list a long time ago i would think you are a few years out. Maybe play with the gt63 for 2 years?

No need for a list they have a VIP program like Porsche. My build is submitted and on the border of being a 26 vs 25 which I prefer the 26.

I havent even delved into the ZR1 world or ordering. Im probably gonna keep the C8Z for at least another year (had it for one now) and see where I am with the car in 2026.

Appreciate all the discussion too; keeps this C192 section rolling.

Can I ask if you’re paying an ADM or were you given MSRP since you’re part of the VIP program?

Hey @Vic55 , great looking AMG! I always liked your pics over on Rennlist and even though I don't have a GTxx, I really like your pics and car. I appreciate keeping the convo moving along with pics, thoughts, and comparisons.

Thank you and 100 percent!!!

Its not all about the GT63 but I think we need the dialogue of its competitors and even other cars in general. Im really liking AMG again with this unique car- not the fastest by a long mile, not the cheapest, but there is something about just getting in and driving it. Its definitely a looker IMHO.

Agreed.

We sold our 2022 911 GTS and are kinda shelving the sports car idea (or "need" as I describe it LOL) for awhile. We got the baby AMG, the CLE53 Cabriolet, which is a fun car and my wife really likes it, however, sometime in the future, after we get the cabriolet bug sorted and the possibility of g-kiddos more defined, we are getting back into the sports car idea. We have yet to test drive, or even look at for that matter, the GTxx car, although that appears to be the general direction we are headed. We are more grand touring old fart, low key now than we used to be. Meh, is what it is and are always having fun driving, owning, and searching for that "perfect" car. The M8 is too big for us (although we really haven't seen one in the flesh to put a butt in a seat) and the C8 just makes me vomit, despite my appreciation for what it is and the value per dollar it gives.

I'm getting old and lame. 😂

So does the R232 SL 63 sound like the car you are interested?

I have never been a real "SL" type car person. They're lovely, but meh.... It would be something we would consider, but not with great gusto. Of course, I want to have my cake and eat it too...LOL.

Is there a way to set the seat farther back before I shut the door using the comfort entry? It does start back farther then when Im situated but I wish it was even farther back for better ingress.

nope but I think what you could do is save the ideal entry position as second saved seat position and then when you are in just restore to 1st memorize seat position.

i feel like c192 section will not be active for atleast 3-4 years, just by virtue of it's owner pool and such... the r230/231 and c190 owners are going to be more on the internet, anyone who owns/is into the c192 and r192 are not going to be using the internet...

Glad you like the idea : ) The beauty thing is unlike the C-Class, you just have to press the button once and don't have to hold the seat memory button and the seats automatically adjust to that saved position. I think?

How many of you owners have gone to use the turn signal and accidentally turned on the wipers?

Is the turn knob that sensitive or is it just my sausage fingers?
