Does anyone have information regarding an ECU tune for the 2025+ AMG GT's? I am not aware of that an ECU tune is currently available but wondering if one of the performance shops is working on one?

Have you tried Renntech yet? I believe they might have one. Careful about your warranty. GL

Renntech has a piggyback right now... not an ECU tune but instead a tuning box.

@Zmangt63 stated there is a tuner close to him that has a DME tune out... he will chime in.

There is nothing wrong with a piggyback set up. They work exactly the same as an ecu download so there should be zero reason to shy away from it. The sole reason the piggyback system came about was to have the ability to remove it before going to the dealer to fly under the radar.

And ecu flash you are going to the dealer with your pants down so to speak. One alternative if one is set on an ecu download is to purchase a second ecu so you keep your stock ecu on a shelf.

I never said anything was wrong--- its just not an ECU tune.

The subject line here is ECU Tune (in part) so I read it that way. ECU tunes can do much more than boxes of course. I wish M Engineering had a tune here for our cars. I love what they do for me with my 992 GTS; full data logging and revisions over and over (Im on my 10th version LOL) for free plus other options if I want to go that route and I can factory reset it in 7 min.

It will take one much much longer to remove a piggy on the GT63. It took about 45 min to install. Now my two M8's and my M5 with the S63tu engine set up takes only 5 minutes to do the install there.

Good information and appreciate your feedback. I never did an ECU tune on my 992 C2, but was tempted. They have come a long way over the years!!

The 992 M Engineering tune is worth all the money-- Mitch and Team know their ****.

On our 992's the exhaust doesnt even open up till around 4k plus rpms... leaving the vacuum cleaner sound for low rpms cruising and defeating the purpose of the good sounding flat 6. Once I removed that; it was far more throaty and deep.

I added in a few tweaks removing the cold start and because Im running an after market exhaust the the valve setup is very finnicky so I removed the valve CEL that Porsche triggers here and there. I was one of the first GTS's to try their tune so I helped them and they helped me.

Question....are you sure the dealer cannot detect if car has a piggyback tune? Even if you restore to factory before brining car in for service? Someone in service at my MB dealer said they can still detect the 'tune'....anyone know for sure? Thx

In most dealer service worlds, if they want to "look" for the variations in boost they can find it... but that takes some digging. Some context:

My Porsche Dealer doesnt even care; they see so many modded Porsches that unless its a severe warranty claim I can just leave it in. But in this case my GTS is ecu tuned so there is no optical hardware mods via the main part of the engine.

My Benz Dealer wont go looking for it but I disclose with my SA up front that I removed it. But again its not an issue if the car is there for service but I do pull it.

My BMW is the same as Benz.

Audi- they will search immediately in most cases and if they detect something they will TD1 the car and its flagged. But it does depend on the store but they are much tighter than the other Germans. Almost all stores like to search here.

Its when the bigger warranty claims come out that dealers may dig deep and see what the root cause (if it was an engine failure).

Of course these are my experiences with tuned cars (over 50) and taking them to service. Now for the GT63 I am not going to remove the box for service (oil) cause its just an early change that I like to do and and the GM knows the box is there. He is paying for it so no service claim or warranty work.

Just watched this:

OEM 63 vs a 55 with the Renntech box ...the 63 was NOT using RaceStart and you can tell but it still reeled in the supposedly equal (with the box) 55:
