Two Audio 10 issues
I recently installed the Audio10 in my 2001 c240. I love it. It is a big difference from the cassette headunit. BUT I have two issues so far...
1. When I turn the car on sometimes, there is no sound. Power but no sound. I have to turn the car on and off a few times to get it to play. It doesn't do it all the time but it has been a few times. Any ideas?
2. When my cell phone was sitting on the sliding cover for the cupholder and I got a call, the phone interferred with the radio and I lost sound for a few seconds. Has anyone experienced this?
Any help is appreciated.

Yes I did purchase it second hand. My bro purchased it in Germany and sent it to me. I had to have a friend at the dealership put the diagnostic tool on the car and set it up for me.
I lose sound for a few second, maybe 4 or 5 seconds when it goes out from the cell phone. but it doesn't happen all the time. Very weird.

2 friends had the same thing with the sound coming on and off with an audio 10 one was a coupe and one was a sedan, they both got replaced under warranty...maybe send the unti back to the guy in Germany

yes this happens to me sometimes also. I have a third problem with mine and that is at times it will randomly mute itself, then turn right back on. Im about ready to rip the whole *** thing out.

dont worry about your cell cutting out your radio for a few secs. This is the cell frequeny interfering w/ the radio. I have a Nextel and Tmobile that both do it.

I'll bet the problem is something with the phone module telling the radio there's a call, and the radio goes to mute, like its supposed to. You could try disconnecting the phone mute wire to the radio, it's #A-3, and see if that makes a difference.

i've had my audio10 unit for about 1-2 years now. ive experienced the unit go mute on startup...
i will start the car, and the unit is clearly on, yet nothing. the way i resolve it is to just turn the unit off and then on again.. it works for me, im not sure however if u are getting the same type of problem.

I am gonna try this tomorrow. If it doesn't work, I duess it's off to Becker.

Well, I cut the Tel Mute wire and still have the problem. Guess I will either live with it for now or send it off to Becker.
